I nailed this if I may say so myself (yes I may). 😄 I have zero, zilch, nada, none of the Halloween themed stamps or dies or anything I could make a card with, but I managed to turn a Church die into a graveyard and a cherry blossom tree stamp into a spooky, withered tree. I threw some Halloween colors into the mix and BAM - I got two designs out of zero Halloween materials! The candy I attached to the back of the mini-card. The biggest problem was coming up with what to write inside, because I just don’t know how to talk to kids. 😩 I always found it cool when someone knows how to converse with a child without being patronizing or cringy or awkward - having the ability to put themselves on their cognitive level and have interesting conversations with them. I. Do. Not. This afternoon I took some time to try to leave the last few days’ anxieties behind. They found the gunman dead of a self-inflicted gunshot. So surreal as it was I have a longing for normalcy and I let some stress dissolve lying in my hammock watching birds in my apple tree. And THEN I listened to this audio. G! I haven’t done everything I describe here haha - you have to put some things down to a vivid imagination. 💜 But yes! I did do more spicy cooking - just beef and lamb koftas (I can’t remember the name of the spice I used but it was similar to Kabseh). Yes to the motorbikes. There’s actually an audio coming (a bit like the horse riding one haha). And I finished Arabian Love Poems - Kabbani was very inspiring - and I’ve discovered a similar poet from South America named Carlos Drummond de Andrade who is helping keep me inspired too. I’ll be doing another ASMR poetry reading later this year or early next year with poems from both of those writers called ‘Trainline Love Poems’. Let me know if you stumble across any more writers like them?? I can’t get enough ah!

Hey Matt! I wanted to say a proper "goodbye for now". With things taking off on the project and my face about to go public in November I'm having to make some tough choices. I know you understand, but damned if that doesn't make it any easier. I had no idea what to expect when I ventured in 2 1/2 years ago. It's been the most unexpected journey and there are no words (and I love words) to express what it's meant. Thank you for everything. I'm stepping in a better person than when I stepped in. My only regret is not figuring out how to make a Playlist of all the singing to take with me. I want to sneak away and lose myself in this but I’m spending time with my family tonight. We are all reeling still from the mass shooting that happened two nights ago in a nearby city. Schools everywhere have been shut down and people are still sheltering in place in the city in which it happened. The manhunt continues unsuccessfully so we don’t know if the shooter is dead or alive. They are searching the river tonight. It’s a heartbreaking , terrifying event and one that my state has never experienced before. Last week we finally had to euthanize my sweet cat. This week we keep checking to see if they’ve identified more of the victims and whether their killer has been apprehended. It’s a very strange time. I know it’s a little odd to seek comfort in the familiarity of this site but I genuinely look forward to finding time to play your naughty audio and pretend terrible things aren’t happening all around me. Not to mention in Gaza. Or to the entire planet really. My goodness, how cheerful I sound. I truly just meant to say hi and to thank you in advance for creating this bit of fantasy every week. It’s a lovely escape and your voice still comforts me when I cannot sleep. 💙
