Development 0.3 - #1

Fellow Pandalorians!

Firstly, your support and patience mean the world to me, especially after the events of last month. Thank you for standing by me during that difficult time.

Secondly, I'm happy to announce that I've officially started the development of the next chapter of Between Humanity!

I will be posting status updates on a (hopefully) regular basis, so you can track the game's progress with me. There's still a lot to be done, but I'm committed to bringing you the best content possible.

Stay tuned for more!

this game is one of the more exciting games that i'm playing. I'm intrigued by the lore and how corrupted things actually are and how mysterious or crazy/mindbreaky things get, considering our MC's situation.

You're welcome also. :)

Also. I still stand by the fact that the jump scare was minimal but it made my heart drop while i'm leaned back relaxing and enjoy a nice friendly lewd theme game... it even startled my dog when i jumped lol -.-

Cyber

Sounds exciting. You clearly seem to like this world you're building and I'm just vibing here until we get to see it through :)

Cyber

Oh, no problem. I try to respond to everything if time allows! :) You've some good ideas, but I don't want to tell what I have planned, since that would spoil the fun :D. I'm also a software developer, but not really a ui designer as one might see. The only bigger software dev task I have to solve is how to make a class to make it easier to check for certain paths and harem options later one, but I'll tackle this once I'm there.

I appreciate the response! And don't beat yourself up over it. It's just my fomo speaking because I enjoyed both your story paths. But I genuinely think that if you find a way to make the "replay differently" or "what if" happen in a native way to the game as part of the lore, you would genuinely break my mind and I'd be hella impressed. Lets say that, hypothetically, we've seen the MC have those glitchy memory gaps. What if when he goes to sleep (end of day event), you know how the mc currently does a wrap up synopsis of what happened to him that day? What if instead he's trying to remember things of that day but his mind is playing tricks on him , a UI can pop up where we can see the different what-ifs paths and then when he's doing his synopsis of the day events, if the player saw different story lines that day or at night time, instead of the mc just narrating what happened, he's asking the player by asking himself. For example: Today a lot for things happened, Lucy asked me do this thing and my other sister was playing video games loudly and got caught when she made the sound... But why do I have a feeling like I missed something today? (Offer option to see alternate path like Jane coming home drunk), and be like "oh right, i think Jane came home drunk today and it was weird..." But wait, that can't be right, I only did one thing back then, why am I misremembering stuff? ...oh wait. Now I remember. I think I... (Offer multiple choices of which canon event happened , sister gamer or drunk mom " and then cement it as the primary story line... Meanwhile that secondary story line can then be addressed as a "replay\alrernate path in the main menu to replay from there and keep other choices the same except for that fork in the road switch... I also wish the "stats screen" provided some hints on which "points" I missed for full 100% completion of each episode in case I did a replay of the game. Right now I sometimes ask myself "did I miss something? I thought that dialogue option was not consequential! Hell, maybe the sex bot can act as a simulator to replay scenes differently or some sort of VR or augmented reality lens (he did claim that he stopped wearing glasses because his eyes are better now, so maybe that can be something to use as in world story best that his augmented reality or VR lets him see things differently. I dunno I am just spit balling. I'm curious to know what ideas YOU had before the break. Either that or make both story lines not mutually exclusive to begin with I guess. If u wanna save time 😂. Also. I'm Liking the world building in your story. I'm a software developer and former game dev and I've played my share of games here. If you need to talk to a rubber ducky or need help, let me know. I haven't used RenPy yet but I can provide feedback on any storyboarding or design choices!

Cyber

Thank you and you're welcome! :)

Hey there :D the jump scare wasn't that bad, just a little wake up call, literally. I'm literally not allowed to add a newline on phone, thanks patreon. Anyway, I'm getting that people want to experience both way, might take a look at that before I release 0.3. initially I had some plans about this but I figured that I won't have more time to work on the game in the near future so I might just allow for both parts instead, will see about that. Let yourself be surprised what's about to come and thanks =D!

DebatingPanda

Thank you for the update. I can't wait for more. Have a good day. :)

Awesome! This game is giving me hella conspiracy vibes and "don't trust anyone, or anything including your own eyes\mind" vibes. The news articles tried to bury an important thread by wrapping it around outlandish theories like flat earthers and others, but one of those threads is relevant, I can just feel it. Also. I still haven't forgiven you for that dream jumpscare face zoom in. You had no reason to scare me half to death alone in my room at 3am. 😂 If I can ask for a quality of life, maybe I'm mixing up my games but is there a way you can offer the viewing experience of the "alternate decision paths"? I felt decision paralysis in early episodes like when I had to either see the twin gaming or investigate drunk Jane .. and I wished I was able to unlock both paths somehow or at least get the galleries unlocked there for "replay" and then continue with canon choice. Like "here's story A and B from your choices, this was story A do you like to see what story B was about? (Similar to mod note), and then say "which one is your canon choice?" (I've seen this design choice in recent games like "my best deal"). It's not much because it's not asking for new content but it's asking to help those with severe FOMO enjoy the story more natively in the navigation choices without having to "scum save". Another game that did this well was fetish locator's mod that became nearly part of the design choices of the devs back then, because it would tell you what choices are "one way doors" and allows you to replay those alternate paths and then unlock them in gallery to come back to later while maintainkng your cannon story." But that's just me. I play the game in a completionist fomo mindset so I'm trying to persuade to keep us immersed because I can clearly see that the world you are creating has amazing lore... And if my theory is true about the "enhancements" or intrusive invasion of my mind or brain after the "accident" then maybe one of the story threads there or abilities that you can pick up along the way in that world is the ability to almost like going into your mind balance and "discover the what could have been" and dwell on that what-if knowledge or even make you see illusions or hallucinate or maybe there's some bigger mystery and you're in a purgatory world or alternate world or simulation at hospital etc... I don't know, it definitely feels like there's some weird vibe in the game and I love it. I'm throwing random hypotheticals depending on your world lore. So if it doesn't fit don't worry, I'm not trying to passenger drive 😂. Just giving my 2 cents for a game that really caught me off guard and I'm loving it!
