Patreon Exclusive: Neurospicy Life Ep 2 - Body First Living

One of the most important things I've learned about being different is to put my body and brain's needs first.

Comments

I haven’t watched this yet but I have seen some of your commentary on this on YouTube. As a fellow neurospicy person I want to say I also love how transparent you are about this part of your life. One of the many reasons I’ve become a supporter here. You’re being a real human with us, in real time and I’m super here for it 🙏🏼💕🙌🏼

Your am inspiration mate, seriously. I'm applying for a PhD in AI research (social psychology). Before post labour I want to get family closer to nature, get away from the masses and earn my money on my terms. My own cognitive stuff is messed up, heads to full. My energy is displaced because I live by other people's rules. Anyway, I've just resigned. Started a small tech repair business to keep us balanced and I'm applying to a research PhD. It's kinda your fault lol. Secondary asexual - for me it's secondary sensory / performance anxiety. I want to. It Just causes to much stress often. SSRI's have helped. Anyway, thanks again!! And a £10!!! Bargain

It helped. :)

That's sounds perfect. We've thought about expatriation one day...

David Shapiro

Hey, David, I’m kind of living the life you envisioned. At age 73, I moved to a very small island in Belize called Caye Caulker. I, like you, want no calendar and no obligatory chores from the world of “civilization”. My son bought some property here including a nice hotel on the beach where we frequently have bonfire parties.. Usually in the morning I stop in at Ice N Beans, a little restaurant on the beach. When I arrive, many people greet my with “Mr Rick!” Reminds me of Norm on Cheers. I have met people there from all over the world. After breakfast I program on ny Mac for a few hours on my latest project, my own, no rushing, no schedule. Later I take my dog, Etta, swimming in the ocean. It’s really the perfect life for me. I should have moved here 20 years ago.

David: You are brilliant and 100K subscribers in a year is really amazing! You have climbed a mountain and I KNOW you will make 1 million Subs in the next 2-3 years! We empathize with your frustration. Doesn't everyone stress during the holidays? Take a personal day or two just to reflect on life, relax and meditate! Make it a family day maybe BBQ? :) Cheers friend

Yes, it does help. Having just returned from Thanksgiving with my family, I feel hungover from drinking alone. And I think I had two glasses of wine over 4 days. I tried to engage every family member to discuss AI and what's coming and it was like talking to them about a new religion I discovered that my neighbors are into. The common response was "yeah, it sounds weird." The younger members of the family, who are still working age, say things like, "yeah, I'm lucky because what I do can't be replaced by robots. I handle the social networking for a big non-profit." It's so clear that the reason I feel crazy is because I either am or this thing is sneaking up on everyone else like a ninja. I believe the latter but I'm not sure I'm okay with that. I think I'd rather be crazy.

I think the point that resonated with me the most is about the human connection. Listening to you talk about your thoughts of being overwhelmed by the speed of AI development creates an empathy and a connection. In that moment, we are sharing your human experience, which we can relate to, and it makes us feel better - that we are not alone. Humans may not be as smart as AI, but we can know what is real and what is not. And what is real to us are the thoughts and expressions from other people that we can relate to. Great work David. Appreciate your efforts.

As a fellow who enjoys human made content and art, I'll continue to support you. I'm also a Hobbit hole enthusiast so I look forward to see you achieve that dream lifestyle someday :)

Thanks Dave. Personally, I'm not going anywhere.
