Technical Babbling

I run a light system that's completely portable.  A bag full of Cactus RF60 radio-controlled speedlights, and a handful of additional Cactus V6 receivers to drive my Nikon lights, mostly SB-28 units.  This has been a tremendously flexible and powerful solution for a long time...

Until it wasn't.  Four of my five Cactus lights all developed a charging problem at the same time.  Literally within a couple of weeks of each other, they all stopped firing when I asked them to.

I sent them back to Cactus, a company that has been exceptionally good to me in the past, and they charged me almost half the replacement value to fix the lights.  And one of them still doesn't work, so they're asking me to replace components myself, and charging me more money for the pleasure.

I am, as you can imagine, somewhat less than pleased.

But I can't stop using them, light is everything in photography, and these things are not optional.

So I'm looking for alternatives.  It doesn't look like I'm going to get any change out of three grand to replace these lights with something a little better (and hopefully more durable).  Pulling the trigger on a huge order in 3...  2...
