People should mask because service industry folk work there and have no choice what is brought in. Can you get together with other staff who you think might be sympathetic to the idea and have a plan to get some HEPA filtration on the go at work? "Should be" the role of your boss, but clearly almost none care, or have been led to believe it's not a problem. Even after at least 5 infections it is a good idea to try limit the number of future infections you get, knowing what is known about this pathogen.

Asymptomatic Covid Infection can be symptomatic for someone you transmit it to. Asymptomatic Covid infection can lead to Long Covid -for YOU. It can cause organ damage, which you cannot feel. It doesn't necessarily matter that you eat well and do exercise, Covid can get us sicker regardless. Organ damage is subclinical. Mysterious new heart palpitations, POTS, arythmia, stroke, heart attack? Fuck that! Please for the love of good, wear a well fitting high quality respirator (N95 or higher) wherever air is shared. Start with public transport, flights, shops if you aren't comfortable doing it around people you know. But do it. H5N1 human to human pandemic is coming too, because animal agriculture is too big to fail I guess, and dairy farm workers etc. keep being exposed to it by their bosses. 2025-02-08 23:18:59 +0000 UTCMy therapist offered me a thoughtful analogy to help me understand my own pilled mom; she (therapist) compared the desire for stability and chaos in persons who were living a fairly normal, comfortable life versus those who are incarcerated for life. The fairly comfortable folks - they are pro stability, as it maintains their comfort. The people who are in prison for life - they desire chaos, as it’s the only means to any change to their circumstances. She made the point that, if you’re serving a life sentence, you might be hoping for a nuclear war, as that kind of society breaking event could offer you a chance to not be in prison for life. It hit me in the sense that the average American is so economically oppressed, like of course they (we) crave some chaos to spark a change that otherwise doesn’t seem possible. Jake made this point, and it’s not to excuse the bloodthirst of those who are pilled, (I’m broke and not pilled, as far as I know) but it helped me have a shred of empathy for those like my mom, who is far far gone.
