Episode 212: Tulsi Gabbard P2 (The Fascist Turn) feat Mike Prysner

Really great two-parter. As someone involved in Hawai‘i politics, I knew some of this already, but it was really helpful to have the whole web of insanity laid out so well. FYI though, Mufi Hannemann is a man. Also, since “Hawaiians” refers specifically to the indigenous people of Hawai‘i, the term cannot be used interchangeably with “people of Hawai‘i,” the way “Californians” functions, for example.

I saw her last month campaigning for Joe Kent (he lost, and didn't even get a mention here. Sad!). She is a good public speaker, it really showed how much Joe has to learn. BUT- it was interesting! One person asked about her previous gun stuff, and security shut him down and she said he should visit her YouTube. Which I thought was weird, but if that is her new roll-out, it tracks. I personally felt very validated by these episodes, because I've been beating the Tulsi is an extremist with ties to Hindu nationalism drum for years now. Thanks for the excellent investigative reporting.

And there was a brief moment where I gave Tulsi a chance after the moron Bari Weiss called her a "Putin toady" on baby-brained Joe Rogan. And hearing some short interviews of Tulsi she seemed normal and bright. Wow wasI fooled by her performance.

I honestly wouldn't be pissed off if more politicians reversed their stance based on the fact that it was something voters didn't want them to do... I am more annoyed that she says she is against war but references the Iraq war as something where enlistees participated to make America the land of the free. Because that part is fucking bullshit.

Unsurprising that the Democrats were so gormlessly stupid that they were glad to welcome in a fascist cultist viper because it was photogenic and ticked the right boxes. I also would continue to bet money that they saw “non-white woman who ostensibly isn’t Christian” and said “oh boy we can hit so many idpol goals with this one person”, never mind that she’s a fascist monster.

You're left staring into space at the end of this wondering what it was all for? What goal is she pursuing? Everything is a cynical piece of career building that she easily discards for the next, but at the same time she's taken such marginal positions on stuff when the runway to becoming a high tier Democrat apparachik was right there, lit up for her. Instead she became a shock jock basically, which while undoubtedly lucrative is hardly the most stable or glamorous thing to be doing. I guess she just hates muslims that much, that's really the only connecting line.
