Regarding the staying power of this obviously fake conspiracy: I think there's a part of this that feels true because the extremely rich live in a way that feels so removed, so alien, to the lives we live. I read an article recently about people who consider themselves to be techy geniuses who intend to have tons of kids and convince their fellow elites to have tons of kids so they can basically rule the world, and I don't believe they're actually lizards or anything, but as a metaphor for how inhuman they seem in the interview, it almost feels right.

Wow I love this history of the reptilian fever dream. Has QAA ever done an episode on that 80s movie They Live? Feels like similar aesthetics (secret lizard skeleton-y like creatures masquerading as people and running the world.) Similar themes predominate. TBH I liked the movie as a kid, but I hear it has been since hijacked by the right.
