You guy’s were being mean to Jake. This is definitely a bad movie worth watching.

Chris ONeill

I saw this movie in theatres when I was 13 or 14...oh man Rose Byrne awoke something in me

Does the kid say Stalker or Soccer?

Maybe Cage's character is called John because of the Apocalypse of John. "Stalker" was made into a film by the great Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. Also has a skeptic scientist.

Trino Carrera

If you liked the carnage scenes try looking at War of the Worlds (2005) as well

He wasn't allowed to play STALKER because they were living in the Zone: a reference to mysterious nature of the area represented in the video games and Roadside Picnic. The Zone is a sort of allegory for the Soviet Union in the novel but the movie is definitely just using it as a popular reference at the time for something arcane and seemingly sinister. Also, in the novel the Zones are caused by a mysterious visit from aliens rather than the Chernobyl disaster plot device in the game franchise.

Outercelestials is the GREATEST JaKe High word!

Subway scene in Invincible would like to have a word!

Re STALKER: the game stalker is based on a russian novel called Roadside Picnic, which is set in an alternative world in which aliens have invaded the world and left behind a load of their alien technology, and 'stalkers' enter these zones to steal this technology and sell it to others. The conclusion of the book is that despite the major impact of the aliens on the earth and the people living there, changes are it means nothing to the aliens who simply saw earth as a stop gap on their journey. I think this reference is probably used to denigrate the game given that many Christians like the believe in the supreme importance of humanity. I dunno, just a thought.

I remember seeing this in theaters as a teen lol

One of those movies that was terrible but, god damn it, it still pulls you in

Another movie you guys should do for Movie Night is Eyes Wide Shut. That movie is more relevant now in regards to modern conspiracy theory culture than it was in 1999. There are so many crazy essays online analyzing the meaning behind everything in the film. Plus there are already so many theories about Stanley Kubrick and his death. And of course, the QAA boys uncomfortably making orgy jokes is always welcomed.
