BLOG POST 2/24/24: What the Hell is Going On?

I've been thinking for a while I should split up my YouTube channel into Homestuck stuff and non-Homestuck stuff. I have some big ideas for video essays but I don't want the main Funk Channel to get cluttered. I had an idea that I could make a second channel but that seems like a big waste of time building up a whole 'nother social media feed.

God, managing content is kind of a fucking nightmare. I'm caught between wanting to make diverse content and knowing that if I do, my channel will appear cluttered and haphazard.

The Funk McLovin YouTube has gone through so much over the years and it's hard to believe after nearly ten years, it's finally going to have 10k subscribers. I know that's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it feels big to me.

Who knows what the channel will hold?

Either way, more HSAU on Sunday! Expect them on Saturday from now on. Special event on 4/13. Maybe. LOL

BLOG POST 2/6/24: Truckin'

Things are going well with HSAU, 3 eps into Act 4 and we're going smoothly. No hiccups yet, no pipeline problems. Smooth sailin'.

New album is going to be out 8/31/24 as usual, the name was picked on Twitter: "JAZZ CABBAGE," I'm thinking it will be a more jazz-inspired live album this time. That'll be fun. More singles to come.

I have a new Patreon video, reacting to haters, where I go through some funny comments people have made on Reddit about my work and HSAU.

I'm going to be involved in the SAHCon album again in 2024 and can't wait to show everyone more of HSAU Act 4!

Blog Post 1/12/24: HSAU HERE

After much struggling and tribulation, HERE'S HSAU!

...Tomorrow. Lol.

More HSAU will release every Saturday, God willing. Right now I have 3 more episodes that have everything submitted for them.

Honestly, this Act has been a real fucking headache start to finish, I'm glad to start the pipeline again. It's been a year since Act 3 I've really slowed down. I want to get through Acts 4 and 5 by the end of the year which should take us to Cascade.

I have BIG plans for Cascade: Did someone say "MUSICAL EPISODE?"

But yeah. It's finally coming out. God damn what a behemoth.

Blog Post 12/15/23: HSAU Act 4 Release Date Annoucnement

More HSAU on 1/10!

The final version of Act 4 isn't quite finalized, but the voice actors are hard at work with lines.

There will be a trailer for Act 4 on 1/1 at the SAHcon winter showcase (I'll post the link when I get it) and an ACTUAL CHAPTER will drop on 1/10.

It's been a WHOLE YEAR since Act 3 which is insane to me. I'm not pleased with how long Act 4 took and I'm going to try my hardest to make sure Act 5 doesn't take as long. Plans are in the works to adapt Cascade as a musical episode so stay tuned. I'm hoping to complete The 1st half of HSAU before the end of 2024.

Something that's always frustrated me about making stuff is how god-damn long it takes. I've had these ideas in my head since 2021 but it's taken years to force them into the real world. Kind of crazy that 2024 is around the corner.

Also SAHcon got an official Homestuck license! I've known this for a while but it's nice to finally announce it. I've been part of SAHcon since 2020 so it's exciting to know that there's enough interest to keep it going.

In other news, I'm still working on the sharpie bath video, researching that was a doozy, I think you guys will really really love it.

BLOG POST 12/5: HSAU Feedback Request 2

HSAU is progressing slow and steady. I thought I'd have it done in November, but it's December 5th and I still have to revise the draft I wrote.

Right now, the HSAU staff is working on a release date of 1/1 for the first episode but I might have more previews to come.

The OTHER thing I'm working hard on is a video about the Sharpie Bath Incident (iykyk) and TWO trailers for the SAHcon winter showcase.

Long story short, sit tight and there will be things in JANUARY. Thanks for holding out so long. HSAU has gotten out of hand in kind of a funny way and I can't wait to show you all the chaos.

BLOG POST 11/6/23: HSAU Work

Hello all. Work has begun on HSAU Act 4 which means I have another draft for people to proofread. Expect a follow-up post.

I am shooting for New Year's to release another episode, I think that's doable. I'm excited.

I'm submitting a piece to the SAHcon Winter Showcase, if I get accepted I'll release the Sharpie Bath documentary on the same day.

I recorded some material for the One Piece analysis but I don't know where or when I'll release it. Here's the link to the bare-bones powerpoint I made:

BLOG POST 10/24: New Directions

I've been thinking about making some One Piece analysis content since I've been watching it. I made a slideshow about Romance Dawn with some notes, it could be fun. Idk how many people are interested in that.

My Twitter account has been shadowbanned since 1am 10/20 which is annoying. I haven't been posting there as much and it's kind of aggravating because I need to use it to promote the Rosemary zine.

HSAU work is going steady, with all the shit I've had to do this week it's gotten a little sidelined. I wish I could say it's for some complicated mental reason but I'm just tired lately. As Blink-182 says, "Work sucks, I know."
