As someone whose studied funeral history for as part of the program I went through to become a funeral director (& I hope soon also an embalmer), I can’t help but be reminded of Egyptian mythology with Anubis the jackal headed god weighing the soul against a feather of the newly deceased Egyptian to determine what happens to them in the afterlife. It makes me wonder how much, even cursorily, that Medic Dave might’ve found inspiration for this Courtroom in Egyptian lore. EDIT: OMFG Anubis just appeared!! How funny.
