Premium Episode 6: Fox News feat. Jordan Uhl

We cover the QAnon community's moody, messy relationship to Fox News, then uncover the history of the channel and how it is the product of generations of propagandism. Finally Jordan Uhl talks to us about fighting corporate advertisers so they stop endorsing white nationalist Tucker Carlson and his assertions that immigrants make America "dirtier, poorer, and more divided" during his prime time slot on Fox News. Apologies to any new patrons who aren't called out at the end — we recorded this one a few days ago. You'll get shouted out on the next one! Thank you.

And no censorship isn't just about the threat or reality of incarceration. Even government censorship isn't simply about whether someone is thrown into prison. That is merely on the more extreme end. That form and level of censorship is quite rare. Including in more oppressive regimes. That is how you send a message to self censor

Glenn Greenwald and Tucker Carlson are friends because Carlson gives Greenwald the opportunity to discuss Russiagate and other issues and he takes it? What childishness. The interviewee lost me when he decided to take the leap from a business financially sponsoring Carlson's show to a journalist and commentator using the opportunity to speak to Carlson's massive audience. I've seen no evidence they are actually "friends" but who knows what that word has devolved to mean for younger people these days. Furthermore, the fact that they see no free speech implications simply because a government is not involved is worrying. Using an 18 century document as the be all and end all is a rather limited way to appreciate the reality of speech (I'm not saying there are always easy answers). On top of which it's quite telling that it doesn't matter to the guest what Greenwald is saying when he's on Carlson's show. It's simply the fact that he's on it which is apparently too much for him to handle. This is very much a post millennium complaint among US students used to deplatforming people for every other reason.
