[WOTD] New character: Kaede ❤

In the latest poll about the remake to decide the new character, the option "Student Council President" won, so in this post I’m going to introduce her.

For this character, being the student council president, I had in mind a concept of a serious, focused, and intelligent girl with excellent grades and a great sense of responsibility and rule-following. She would also be someone with a keen critical sense and an ability for analysis and planning. While I don't want her to be arrogant and overly competitive, I do want her to have a challenging and daring attitude in certain situations, leading to some conflicts or debates with some of the main girls or secondary characters at Lionheart Academy.

I was sure that this character’s design should include glasses, a useful accessory to make a character look more intellectual. Her hair should be short, black, and matched with black or green eyes to give her a discreet and unassuming appearance.

At one point, I remembered encountering a similar character in the past, a focused girl with good grades, short hair, and glasses. After some searching, I finally found the character in question.

She is Shizune, a character from one of the first visual novels I've played, called Katawa Shoujo. I remember she was going to be my third route in the game, as I had previously gone through Emi and Hanako's routes. But in the end, for some reason, I didn’t continue playing the visual novel.

However, Shizune's look is very pretty and aligns with what I wanted to achieve, which is also very fitting for the character description I had in mind and have shared with you here above.

(I don't remember exactly if Shizune was also president of the student council, but I do remember well that she was also an intelligent girl and that she liked to play a kind of board game, I think it was Battleship).

Now, it’s time to introduce Kaede, the student council president of Lionheart Academy.

As mentioned before, the initial idea is to make Kaede a girl who enforces rules, for both students and teachers. She has the best grades and, although she isn’t competitive, she doesn’t like losing easily or feeling that someone is superior to her in any way.

So far, Kaede has only been mentioned once in the story, when Asagi talks about her with Siri and Alune one morning before classes. At that time, the name I gave her was 'Isabelle.'

It is also implied that Asagi is friends with Isabelle (Kaede), and this will remain so in the remake.
However, since she will now appear in the story, it’s possible to create events and dialogues where she argues with Rachel over her behavior and inappropriate uniform, and she might play an important role in the interschool Olympics event.
Oh, and it should be noted that Kaede is part of the same class as Asagi.

Regarding her relationship with Clyde, I think initially she could be somewhat distrustful or skeptical of a man's presence at the Academy, but as the story progresses, she would eventually come to appreciate Clyde.

As you may have seen in the different images I have shown throughout the post, I’ve created another variant of the Lionheart Academy uniform. I plan to change this in the remake, but I haven't fully decided on the type of uniform or the colors it should have.

I really like what I’ve done for Kaede here, a sailor-style uniform (which makes sense since the characters live in a coastal city), with white as the primary color and gold as the secondary color, chosen from the colors of the Academy’s emblem. I might also make another variant using pink as the primary color, and both uniforms could be worn freely, just as in the story so far.

The original uniform is a blazer, with blue as the primary color and a red bow. Blue is also a valid color as it is part of the Academy’s emblem. Although I also think that the color blue is a color that more easily resembles the male gender.

But, as I said before, I haven't fully defined this aspect yet; however, I wanted to create a new uniform for this presentation of Kaede, as well as show you the character in the original uniform.

Kaede's body follows the same idea of ​​a discreet and unassuming appearance, which is why she has a small bust, as well as a short height (similar to Siri's).

With the first attempts at her hairstyle, I tried to make her have rather messy hair, that didn't look too feminine and that reflected that she somehow doesn't care about it. But finally I decided to have her have a neat and controlled hairstyle, also eliminating the trait of her being someone who doesn't care about her own appearance.

En la ultima encuesta sobre el remake, para decidir al nuevo personaje, ha ganado la opción "Presidenta del concejo estudiantil", así que en este post voy a presentarla!

Para este personaje, al ser la presidenta del concejo estudiantil, tenia en mente un concepto de chica seria, centrada e inteligente, con excelentes calificaciones y un gran sentido de la responsabilidad y el cumplimiento de reglas. También seria alguien con un gran sentido critico y capacidad de análisis y planeación. Y si bien no quiero hacer de ella alguien presumida y competitiva, sí quiero que tenga una actitud desafiante y temeraria ante ciertas situaciones, y que eso genere ciertos conflictos o debates con alguna de las chicas principales o personajes secundarios que formen parte de la Academia Lionheart.

Tenia la certeza de que el diseño de este personaje debía contar con anteojos, un accesorio útil para hacer que un personaje luzca más intelectual. Y que su cabello debía ser corto, de color negro al igual que sus ojos, para así darle un aspecto 'discreto' y nada llamativo.

En un momento, recordé que en algún momento de mi vida me tope con un personaje así, una chica centrada con buenas calificaciones, que tenia cabello corto y usaba gafas. Y luego de buscar un poco, por fin encontré al personaje en cuestión.

Ella es Shizune, un personaje de una de mis primeras y pocas visual novels que he jugado que se llama Katawa Shoujo. Recuerdo que ella iba a ser mi tercer ruta en el juego, ya que antes había ido por las rutas de Emi y Hanako. Pero al final, por alguna razón, no continúe jugando a la visual novel.

Pero el aspecto de Shizune se me hace muy bonito y acorde a lo que yo quería lograr, que era algo que a su vez considero muy acorde para la descripción del personaje que tenia en mente y les he comentado hasta ahora.

(No recuerdo exactamente si Shizune era tambien presidenta del concejo estudiantil, pero sí que recuerdo bien que ella era tambien una chica inteligente y que le gustaba jugar a una especie de juego de mesa, creo que era el Batalla naval).

Ahora, es momento de presentarles a Kaede, la presidenta del concejo estudiantil de la Academia Lionheart.

Como mencione antes, la idea inicial es hacer de Kaede una chica que hace cumplir las reglas, tanto a estudiantes como a profesores. Ella tiene las mejores calificaciones, y si bien no es alguien competitiva, tampoco le gusta perder fácilmente o sentir que alguien es superior a ella en cualquier cosa.

Hasta ahora, Kaede solo se ha mencionado en la historia una sola vez, cuando Asagi habla de ella con Siri y Alune una mañana antes de clases. Aunque en ese momento el nombre que le di fue 'Isabelle'.

Se da a entender también que Asagi es amiga de Isabelle (Kaede), y eso se mantendrá así en el remake.
Aunque como ahora aparecerá en la historia, es posible que haga eventos y diálogos donde discuta con Rachel por su conducta y uniforme inapropiado, y también que ella tenga una incidencia importante en el evento de las olimpiadas interescolares.
Oh, y cabe aclarar de que Kaede forma parte de la misma clase de Asagi.

En cuanto su relación con Clyde, creo que inicialmente ella podría ser algo desconfiada o escéptica de la presencia de un hombre en la Academia, pero con el desarrollo de la historia, eventualmente ella terminaría apreciando a Clyde.

Como habrán podido ver en las diferentes imágenes que les he ido mostrando en el post, he creado otra variable del uniforme de la Academia Lionheart. Y es que tengo planeado cambiar eso en el remake, pero aun no me decido del todo que tipo de uniforme hacer o que colores debe tener.

Me gusta mucho lo que he hecho para Kaede aquí, un uniforme tipo marinero (lo cual tiene sentido ya que los personajes viven en una ciudad costera), de un color blanco primario, y dorado como color secundario, que fueron elegidos por los colores del emblema de la Academia. Podría hacer otra variable también, pero usando el rosa como color primario, y que ambos uniformes se puedan usar libremente, al igual que sucede en la historia hasta ahora.

El uniforme original es un blazer, siendo el azul el color primario, y un lazo rojo. El azul también es un color válido ya que también forma parte del emblema de la Academia. Aunque también pienso que el color azul es un color que se asemeja más fácil al genero masculino.

Pero, como dije antes, aun no defino del todo este aspecto, sin embargo quería hacer un uniforme nuevo para esta presentación de Kaede, así como también enseñarles al personaje con el uniforme original.

El cuerpo de Kaede sigue la misma idea de una apariencia discreta, por eso tiene un busto pequeño, además de una baja estatura (similar a la de Siri).

Con los primeros intentos para su peinado, intenté que tuviera un cabello más bien desordenado, que no se viera muy femenino y que refleje que ella de cierta manera no se preocupa por ello. Pero finalmente decidí que tuviera un peinado prolijo y controlado, eliminando también el rasgo de que ella fuera alguien que no se preocupa por su aspecto.
