Like in the 2nd game where it said countries starting with ‘B’ it was actually countries that are 3 syllables. I think they don’t want people seeing ‘Belgium, Iraq, Uganda, Sweden and Greece’ and being confused about why they’re all correct when only 1 of them is three syllables in English. I would personally prefer if they just subbed it as is and hoped that people could figure out that pronunciation and word structure are different in Korea.

2024-03-13 04:20:29 +0000 UTCand btw.....you can see the power of the oldest actor there....he and PD Nah are donggap (or the same age) and Song Seung Hun is held in such high regard PD Nah can't be as mean to him as he is with everyone else (which is why he kept acquiescing and letting him negotiate and basically always giving in). You definitely can see how different PD Nah is with actors older than him in his other Game Caterer episodes vs how he is with young idols. It's just the way korea is

2024-03-13 04:12:33 +0000 UTCthe subs during the restaurant were....odd. They seemed like they were trying to translate the american/english equivalent/corollary vs what the actual question was. So the IVE question was actually words where all the syllables end in a vowel (vs beginning with 2 vowels or whatever weird rule the translation was trying to do so no, she actually said tomato and not eel and meant tomato). Oh, and palindromes in korean are insanely easy....there are SO MANY korean words that are palindromes since words are broken down by the syllable and not individual letters....so it's not like it's a palindrome in english (based on individual letters) but rather, the syllable sound. Coincidentally, tomato in korean is also a palindrome where its not in english
