What, Failure to Transition!? Volume 2 Chapter 8

Before leaving the mansion, Yoichi received a card from the steward, Vista.
It was an identification card called a Resident Card, and before he received it, he was first asked to place his finger on some unfamiliar tool from where a drop of blood was taken from him.
As for the reason, it is said that by using his blood as reference material, he would be able to link himself with the card, thus updating the information indicated in the card in real-time, also to prevent counterfeit and unauthorized use by others.
(What kind of high-tech invention is this!!)
Even in just this, Yoichi was already more than amazed and impressed by the tools of the civilization that had evolved differently from the science he’s familiar with.
Incidentally, this was also the same Resident Card Alana asked from the gatekeepers when they entered the city and showed to the guards just outside the mansion; just “reprinted” for Yoichi to use personally.
“Please take care, young mistress.”
“Mm. I promise to visit from time to time.”
“The margrave would be very pleased to hear it.”
“I’m not so sure about that……Anyways, Vista, wish you good health.”
“Same to you, young mistress. Also, Mister Yoichi, please take care of the young mistress for us.”
“Ah, yes. Please leave her to me.”
.
.
By the time the two left the lord’s mansion, the sun had almost set.
The two then hitched a carriage, where during the trip, they passed through another gate.
Yoichi immediately noticed that there was immediately a significant change in the surroundings after passing through the said gate.
From what he had observed, the streets were now wider and more orderly than the ones they had been on before, and the pedestrians were greater in number, and many of them were more variously dressed. Also, on the road, there was a noticeable increase of small carriages traveling back and forth.
But despite being crowded with more people, the streets were not as filthy as Yoichi was expecting, though it was not as clean as the area they have been, either.
Nevertheless, he could say that the streets in this area, despite already dusk, were surprisingly active and still full of life.
“The atmosphere here has changed quite a lot.”
“It sure is. After all, this is the commercial district of Meilgrad we’re talking about.”
“Commercial district?”
“Yes. The area we had been to is the upper-class district, where the nobility and people of high status live, and the gate we just passed is the one that connects the two. As for the commercial district, it is as you see, the busiest part of the city.”
“So that’s why there are so many stores.”
“It is also where the Adventures’ Guild is located, for convenience’s sake.”
The commercial district is the center of commerce of Meilgrad.
Adventurers, buyers, and sellers often frequent these districts to trade. As such, not only all sorts of stores were present in the area, but also inns and restaurants.
And as Alana had said, it was also where the Adventurers’ Guild of Meilgrad is located.
Going further down the path would be the lower-level district, the residential area where ordinary people can stay. It was also the location of many workshops owned by artisans that sell their wares to the commercial district.
After a 20-minute drive, the carriage the two were riding finally reached their destination – in front of the Adventurers’ Guild.
After they disembarked, however, the carriage they rode on didn’t go back, contrary to Yoichi’s expectations. Instead, it drove off straight to the direction it was going – as if it had a set route.
This was because it actually has a set route. But that’s not all. Unlike the one that Yoichi and Alana used to travel from Jana Forest to the margrave’s mansion, the carriage this time is a specialized one – one that is specially permitted to travel from the upper districts to the commercial and lower districts without many restrictions, akin to a passenger bus in Yoichi’s life.
And because it is a “passenger carriage”, Yoichi and Alana were not the only ones riding in it; hence they made several stops of people riding and getting off before reaching their destination.
Then again, just because it was called a “passenger carriage,” it also means that people of any stature can ride them. It is not. These rides are only meant for wealthy merchants and commoners permitted to reside in the upper-class district (As for the nobles, they ride their own private carriages).
There is also the fact that the carriage is intended to transport people in one way only – from the upper-class district down to the commercial district and/or lower district and not vice versa. This is because all who enter the upper-class district, with the exception of the nobles, must go to a thorough inspection first in the gates. Thus, the carriages are always empty when going back.
Following Alana’s lead, Yoichi entered the Adventurers’ Guild, the place he had always wanted to visit ever since arriving in this world.
And unlike the carriage, the place was exactly to his expectations.
The first thing he noticed when he entered was their multiple reception areas akin to a bank on the left side, which stretches all the way to the end of the corridor, and a tavern-like area to the right.
He first focused himself on the left side, which constituted the reception area.
Men and women are stationed in each reception, and all of them had considerably good looks.
Receptionists are treated as the face of the guild and practically any business there is. As such, it was only evident that a good-looking face is a minimum requirement for these lines of jobs, and on top of that, they should possess considerable abilities to deal with people as well. Obviously, this is also to control those brutish or bloodthirsty adventurers with their own charms.
Yoichi then looked to the right side of the interior, which constitutes the tavern.
Because it was already around sunset, the place is already packed with adventurers, taking their moment to splurge some of the rewards they received from doing their quests.
Just earlier, when Alana entered the guild, these bunch of people stopped their hustle and bustle, and all their eyes were fixated on her.
This was partly because Alana was beautiful, but more importantly, it was also because she was already a celebrity in this guild.
“Yo, Alana! How about a drink?”
“Alana~, You haven’t been here for a while, have you?”
“Ms. Alana! Over here!”
“Hey, who’s that guy with her?”
“I thought there are ten of you when you left. Where are the others?”
And just like that, the hustle and bustle returned.
To this, Alana simply raised her hand lightly in the direction of the tavern, smiled, and walked briskly to the reception desks.
“Welcome back, Miss Alana.”
Soon as Alana lined up at the first available reception desk, a staff member immediately came out from the back and stood in front of her.
The staff member is a woman with a beastly visage with dog ears on her head and a tail growing out of her butt.
(Ooh! Real beast-ears! And tail too!)
Yoichi was immediately surprised by the receptionist’s unique trait, but he also tried his best not to show it as much as possible, just keeping her in the corner of his vision as not to stare directly at her.
She was not as good as Alana, but she was still good-looking and with a good style.
“Allow us to take you to the Guild Master.”
“Umu. Ah, about him-“
“Yes. We have already been informed that you have a companion.”
“I see.”
The staff member then led them past the reception desk, up the stairs, and into the guild master’s room on the second floor.
“They’re here, Guild master.”
“Ah, yes. Thank you. And since you are here, take these papers down as well.”
When they finally arrived in the office, Yoichi saw a man sitting at the desk at the end of the room, struggling with some papers.
It was a young man with silver hair like Alana’s, but his hair was kept short, and his skin was brown.
He had a slender figure with moderate muscle tone, which gave him an atmosphere that suited more for fieldwork than office work.
However, what’s surprising for Yoichi is not that this man looked like he was in his late twenties or early thirties. Instead, it was because he had pointed, knife-like ears.
(Silver hair, brown skin, and pointed ears. He’s definitely a dark elf. That means he might not be as old as he looks.)
The man, who appeared to be the guild master, deftly gathered up some of the papers scattered on his desk and handed them to the staff member who had guided Yoichi and Alana.
“Right away, sir. I’ll be leaving no-”
“Oh, and by the way, what happened to the repair of the city walls?”
But when the receptionist was about to leave, the guild master stopped her, throwing another question out of the blue.
“The guild master of the masonry guild said that they will deal with it personally so we are intending to be there in the afternoon of the day after tomorrow.”
“You guys? No can do. Not with their guild master going. Tell them I’ll go there too myself. What about the escorts that will guard the repair work?”
“We’ve already arranged ten men for them. Three C-Rank and seven D-Rank.”
“I see. You may go now.” “Please excuse me.”
After bowing to the guild master, the staff member also bowed to Alana and Yoichi before leaving.
As if to replace her, Alana stepped forward.
“Guild master, I’ve come to report.”
But contrary to Yoichi’s expectations again, the Guild master stood up and walked over to Alana.
Upon standing up, Yoichi finally understood how big the guild master was. And though he was a bit slender-looking compared to the margrave, he was still tall, reaching nearly two meters in height.
However, after approaching Alana with a crisp expression and seamless movements, the Guild master – suddenly lost his composure and switched to a nervous-looking old (young) man.
“H-hey, Alana, you can call me grandpa at any time, you know?”
But to this, Alana just sighed and shook her head in disbelief.
“I’m here to report as an adventurer, Guild master.”
“Booo! My granddaughter is boring!”
“Sigh……allow me to introduce him to you first, Mr. Yoichi. This is Mr. Celestin, the guild master of the Meilgrad branch of the Adventurer’ Guild.”
“Why are you introducing your family member in such a dull, boring, and disappointing way~ Grandpa feels very sad, my little Alana~!”
Yoichi was not as surprised as he thought he would be when he was again introduced to another executive that is also Alana’s family member. Still, he couldn’t help but find it unpleasant to see such a huge man squirming his body comically and even having his mouth into a pout in his introduction, even if he’s on the good-looking side.
“Well, as you have heard on the way he introduced himself, he’s……my grandfather. Grandfather, this is Mr. Yoichi.”
“Mm, looks like my little Alana has been in your care. Allow me to say my gratitude beforehand, Mr. Yoichi.”
This time, as if his comical appearance earlier was a lie, Celestin greeted Yoichi with a straightened posture and expression, just as he did when they first entered the room.
“I-it’s not really that much, sir. But thank you anyway.”
“Again, Guild master, I have something I would like to report.”
“Ah, you don’t have to. I’ve already got most of the information from the report I got from that bloke.”
“……Isn’t calling the lord of the region a bloke going too far?”
“It’s well deserved. After all, that bloke is a bloke for taking away my precious granddaughter.”
“But even though he was the one who told me to come here?”
“Guh……anyways, this is this, and that is that. Just……just leave the dealings of this matter to that bloke and me, okay?”
“……okay? But what about the deceased adventurers?”
“The ones who died but are deemed innocent will be promoted by two ranks and will have their remuneration received by their families. Then, these families will then be asked, or forced if we have to, to move elsewhere, as the region is no longer safe for them. After all, they are already, albeit indirectly, involved in this political matter. As for the one who was seduced into doing the crime, his existence will be expelled from the guild.”
“Well, I guess that’s also the right thing to do.”
“We’re also thankful that the one who was expelled didn’t have family or loved one. Prevented us a lot of headaches on that one.”
The idea of forcing people to move out may seem harsh, but in Meilgrad, where the danger always comes close, it was already a better option for them than staying here and risking another family member’s life.
In fact, most of the adventurers staying in this city immediately move through safer towns after earning enough sum to support themselves for a while.
And with the guild personally supporting their migration, they would be safer, especially when crossing the wastelands of the Wilderness of Death.
Nevertheless, this money won’t bring their relatives and loved ones back to life. To this comes the promotion, as the higher the ranks, the higher the remuneration, also to show the guild’s consideration for their deaths.
In short, the promotion also serves as hush money of some sort.
“That said, the situation of the one who got expelled isn’t a surprise for us. It is often these people who have situations like these the easiest to get enticed and lured in for crimes.”
“I see. Well then, guild master. Now that the issue is done and dealt with, we’ll take our leave.”
“Oh, come on, don’t leave just yet. Let’s have some tea with your grandpa~.”
“Indeed, that would be nice. But only after you get rid of all that pile of paperwork on your desk first. Let’s go, Mr. Yoichi.”
“Wait, my everly cute granddaughter! Just once! Just once is enough!”
“Yes, yes. See you later, Grandpa.”
Alana turned her heels towards the door while lightly waving her hand to her side, and just like that, she left the guild master’s office.
“Eh, uhm……please excuse us.”
Yoichi, still not deciding how he would act, also followed suit. But before he was able to head to the door, he was stopped by Celestin, who suddenly turned serious.
“Take care of my granddaughter Alana for me.” He spoke with his head bowed deeply.
(Wow, so there’s the culture of bowing in this world, too) Yoichi also bowed in return, and from there, he finally left the room.
〇●〇●
When the two left the guild master’s office and returned to the first floor, Yoichi noticed that the reception desks were already empty of customers. This was because the guild was already nearing the end of its closing time in their regular business hours.
Not to mention, the gates of Meilgrad also have their own schedule of opening and closing as well, and judging from the time, they only have two hours left before they got closed in this district. As such time, most of the requests and reports have also been completed in preparation for this closing.
Not wasting any more time, Alana decided to finish Yoichi’s adventurer registration while they were here. She immediately went to the reception desk closest to the stairs as it was the nearest one.
This time, she was greeted by a fair-skinned woman with a neat-looking face. She had dusky blond hair and slightly pointed ears.
However, her ears were not as long as Celestin’s, so Yoichi couldn’t help but guess that she was of mixed Elven descent.
(Come to think of it, Alana has Celestin as her grandfather. So doesn’t this mean that she also has dark elf blood flowing in her veins?)
Yoichi turned towards Alana and looked at her ears with that in mind, but what he saw through her silver hair was just a cute, normal ear.
The only genetic feature he could recognize was her flowing silver hair.
Perhaps noticing his gaze, Alana suddenly turned around and faced Yoichi.
“Ah, sorry. I guess I was staring too much.”
“Fufufu. As long as it’s you, Mr. Yoichi, I don’t mind being stared, even for a long time.”
“Ah, y-yeah.”
“Now then, where was I……ah, sorry, but can I ask you something? I’d like you to register this man as an adventurer.”
Yoichi couldn’t help but get embarrassed by the sudden pick-up line, but since they were nearing out of time, Alana didn’t pay attention to it and instead turned to the receptionist on the counter.
“R-right away, Ma’am!”
The guild employee also couldn’t help but respond in a fluster, however, in a different reason to Yoichi’s.
For those involved in the adventurers’ guild, regardless of whether they are men or women, most of them have a certain amount of admiration for Alana. After all, to them, she was an almost princess-like entity in the guild, a literal “princess knight” in name and in reality.
And this princess knight that they idolize right now is showing a womanly face to a person they don’t know – a face she had never shown before, even to their guild master. So it was only natural that the receptionist was this fascinated by it.
“Is there something wrong?”
“Ah, y-yes. Please excuse my rudeness. So, mister, you’re planning to register yourself as an adventurer? I see. Please wait a moment for me to prepare the forms.”
The receptionist right now was superbly curious about what this unidentified being did to their Miss Alana, that she was more than enough to show her womanly expression towards. Still, out of professional pride, she tried her best to not let it show. She was still curious, though.
“I’m going to ask you to fill out this form. Do you know how to read and write?”
“Oh, yes.”
The receptionist then handed him a form. As for the quality, it was close to that of recycled paper.
From here, he immediately noticed the areas to be filled out in the form are name, age, hometown, and their weapon of expertise.
“Mr. Yoichi, you don’t need to write your last name. As for your hometown, you may leave it blank for now. And for the weapon of expertise, for now, just write Unique weapons.”
Alana immediately taught right beside. To this, he couldn’t help but think she was a very attentive woman, taking care of things that Yoichi might have trouble with ahead of time.
“I see. Uhuh. Here.”
“Thank you very much……so, Mister Yoichi, am I right? Please give me your hand.”
After saying that and reading out the form to see that it had no problems, Yoichi was presented a unique tool. It was a tool with a card inside, similar to the one he used in the margrave’s mansion that issues Residential Cards.
Yoichi placed his hand on the tool once more, and after getting a drop of his blood as a sample,
“It is now finished. You may now remove your hand. And here is your card.”
The guild employee took out a card ejected by the tool and handed it over to Yoichi.
“With this, Mr. Yoichi is now a G-rank adventurer. Please note that you can only accept quests up to the rank of F, so please be careful.”
Adventurers in this world are assigned a system of ranks with letters as indicators, with “A” being the highest and “H” being the lowest. Quests are also assigned with their corresponding ranks to prevent people from getting ahead of themselves and just falling into their doom later on.
As for why Yoichi started at G-Rank even though the lowest is H, H-ranks are only designated for minors, and only these minors can accept quests of H-rank. Adults normally start with a G-Rank when they register.
“This concludes the end of the registration process. Next will be the schedule of your orientation, followed by a short course.”
“Wait, I have to take classes for this?”
“Yes. And you are required to take the class before we can issue you your first quest.”
“Mr. Yoichi, I know it’s a hassle, but it’s part of the rules. For now, please play along.”
“I see. No problem then. So, when will the orientation be?”
“The soonest we can schedule you is tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow, huh. Is it fine with you?”
“I’m fine with it.”
“Then tomorrow it is then.”
“Understood. Then, please come back tomorrow around noon. Here’s your adventurer card. Please don’t lose it.”
“I won’t. Thank you very much.”
After receiving the card, Yoichi pretended to put it inside his pocket before putting it inside the [Infinite Storage+].
Yoichi had already a vague idea of the importance of people with [Storage] abilities, based on how the Genber guy treated him from before when he saved Alana. With it, he couldn’t help but be cautious this time around.
(After all, it is better to be safe than sorry.)
As for the cards, the “proof of identity” that Alana showed to the gatekeepers when they entered the town was also her guild card.
As for why she presented her guild card and not her residential card, she believed that the guild card has more benefits, and that it was also a proof of the high status and trust she earned personally. And with Alana already a B-rank adventurer, with her reputation, she could now have no problems becoming someone’s guarantor, even if the person in subject has no identifications and is a total stranger to them. Nevertheless, a bit of questioning is still necessary.
Then again, whether the residential card or the adventurer’s card, it would pose any difference to her either way. After all, she is also the third daughter of the lord of Meilgrad, and that alone makes her residential card sometimes even more powerful than the B-rank Adventurer card, at least, within Meilgrad.
This was also why Yoichi had been smoothly sailing ever since he reached these lands.
(But then again, the granddaughter of the guild master of the adventurers’ guild in this branch, plus the third daughter of the margrave of this land. She’s a true princess of these lands in one way or another.)
“Oh, and I need you to register us a new party.”
Alana spoke to the receptionist as if she had just remembered it.
Oftentimes, there are a variety of quests that were too much for an adventurer to handle on their own. As such, a system of parties was established for the adventurers to be able to work together.
Of course, these parties were also assigned a separate rank as a safety precaution, as well as to easily distinguish the overall strength of the members in it.
“I see. So, in what particular quest do you want to have a party on?”
“No no no, I don’t mean those temporary ones that are disbanded when the quest is completed. I am talking about the Regular ones. With Mr. Yoichi here.”
“Come again?”
In the Adventurers’ Guild, there are two types of parties: Temporary and Regular.
Temporary parties, just like Alana had said, are parties that are established on a specific quest, similar to an expedition and the like, and are disbanded after the quest is completed.
On the other hand, regular parties were similar to the “guilds” in Yoichi’s MMORPG game world. They are treated not as a group of adventurers ‘partying’ together, but a formal organization.
However, Alana has been basically a solo player, and while she has occasionally formed parties as a requirement to fulfill some quests, she has never been a fan of participating in groups.
Therefore, it was only to the receptionist’s surprise upon discovering that their “Princess Knight” wanted to form a regular party on her own.
“Is it……strange for me to do this?”

Seeing the receptionist’s odd reaction, Alana felt embarrassed. Blushing slightly, she even averted her gaze on the receptionist out of shyness.
But this action of hers only made the other party get intrigued more.
“(W-what is this cute creature! Our princess Knight can’t be this cute! I have never seen this expression of hers before! W-wait, is this because of this man!? Wh-who is this person to make our Miss Alana blush like this! He looks like a dull man, but what did he do to her!? Who the hell are you!? Tell me, please! This lady is really thirsty for gossiping material right now!) Ah, no, not at all! Regular party it is, then.”
The receptionist proceeded with the assigned tasks without expressing even a millimeter of what she was thinking, showing how professional she was in her job.
“But if it’s a regular party with Mr. Yoichi, the party rank will start from G. Are you okay with this, Miss Alana?”
In the case of temporary parties, the party rank is set based on the average of the ranks of all members and in consideration of the party members’ past performance.
For example, if B-ranked Alana and G-ranked Yoichi were to “temporary” team up, their party would be in the D to E range, which is in the middle of B and G.
This was because even though Yoichi doesn’t have any past achievements to get credit for him, Alana’s past achievements were more than enough to make up for it. And considering Alana’s standing, the rank of D will be an easy decision for them, even though they also have the lower E as an option.
However, in the case of a regular party, the ranking to be followed is automatically the ranking of their lowest party member.
And the lowest ranking party member is Yoichi, with a rank of G. Hence the ranking of their party is also the lowest possible, which is G.
‘What should we name the party?”
“Party Name? Mr. Yoichi, is there anything you like?”
Alana then looked at Yoichi at her side.
“Me? Hmmm……how about “TOKOROTEN”?”
“Tokoroten? What is that?”
“Well, it doesn’t mean anything in particular, but…….”
The first thing that came to Yoichi’s mind when thinking of a name was the young man with the same name who was reincarnated here before him in the accident that happened to them not long ago.
He didn’t even know if he was linked in the same time period as him in this world or that if he’s still alive, but the word just came to Yoichi’s mouth naturally and without him even thinking about it.
“Well, I just thought it out of the blue. If you don’t like it, you can just think of another one.”
“No, it’s not that I don’t like it, but……Tokoroten, huh……sounds interesting.”
However, finding out that the word isn’t translated automatically by his skill, Yoichi immediately found out that the existence of the food with the same name did not exist in this world.
After finishing up the formalities, the guild started the preparation for their closing, as if they were its last customers for the day. It wasn’t even later that the lights at the reception desks were dimmed, and the staff began to leave.
They also saw the receptionist assisting them earlier, chatting with her colleagues before heading towards the tavern right beside.
“Shall we go home too?”
“Un.”
With that, they turned around to leave the premises.
The guild’s business hours may already be over, but the tavern attached to the guild is still open for business, or rather, it has just started it’s peak hours.
And as proof, this time, there are more customers than when the two of them had visited earlier, also the reason the hustle and bustle became stronger and noisier.
Thus, it was only natural that the two of them, who stood out in many ways and in several directions, would be immediately noticed right away the moment they were about to leave the guild.
Such as this time.
“Alana, wait!”
It was a young man who stopped Alana, together with a group of people.
He is with a neat face, with fiery red hair and eyes of the same color. He also wore light metal armor and had a long sword on his waist, and from any angle, at least for Yoichi, he looked like the main protagonist from a fantasy manga.
This man’s name is Graff.
He is a young adventurer who have recently made a name for himself, and his current adventurer rank is D. He came to this region at the age of 15 and has steadily risen through the ranks.
He is currently 20 years old this year and is rumored to be reaching C Rank soon.
As for the recognition of each rank, G-Rank is considered to be a beginner, F-Rank is deemed to be half-fledged, E-Rank is finally considered to be full-fledged, and D-Rank is considered to be very skilled.
And considering he will be C-Rank soon, it was needless to say that Graff will soon be joining the ranks of the first-rate adventurers.
Incidentally, the B-Ranks above them are considered the elite of the elites, and A-Ranks could only be classified as those who belonged to the category of inhuman.
But that’s not all. There is also the existence of the S-Rank, which is a special rank that cannot be reached through standard ranking advancements alone.
Now, let’s look at Graff.
He is only twenty years old and yet had already reached the abilities first-rate adventurers have.
Not only that, he is so famous that he is now regarded as the second most popular adventurer after the princess knight Alana, not only due to his achievements but also because of his neat appearance.
Many believe that he will eventually reach the rank of A and become a hero who will leave his name behind for generations to come.
But this was also why his ego was boosted to the maximum, especially when conversing with Alana.
“What, you again?”
The princess knight looked back at the “hero-in-the-making” with a dumbfounded look.
“Alana, I heard a few things. Did you really make a regular party with this guy?”
“What about it?”
“Why? Why did you turn me down, and why are you with this guy instead?”
“Why didn’t I team up with you? That’s because you’re weak. Also, I’m teaming up with him because I want to team up with him.”
Alana walked to the side, intending to ignore Graff who stood before her, but the person didn’t let it slide and still blocked her way as if saying that he wasn’t done talking.
“Let me hear it first!”
“So persistent.”
“Sure, I’m weak, and I still am compared to you……. But that’s not the point here! Why are you with this man!?”
“Haven’t you heard what I said? Because I want to team up with him.”
“So why is that? This guy isn’t even stronger than me, let alone …… you!”
“Strength has nothing to do with it.”
“Isn’t that contrary to what you said to me before!? And yet, you are doing it with this man!”
As she said this, Graff glared at Yoichi.
“Or was there something that happened between the two of you while you are away that cannot be discussed here?”
Now that she was asked about this question, Alana began to think about the time she had spent with Yoichi. To this, her cheeks couldn’t help but relax and her face heat up, and when she became aware of it, she turned her head away as if to cover it up.
“W-well, there are some circumstances……but anyway, I believe that has nothing to do with you, or that you don’t need to know about it.”
“Why are you getting so flustered over a single question? If no such thing happened, you’d be able to explain it to me right away!”
“It’s personal. Why should I bother explaining it to you?”
“Is there something about it…… that you can’t explain? Don’t tell me you……no, wait, I see……in that case…….”
Something was built up in Graff’s mind, all of it entirely on his own.
After that, Graff glared at Yoichi again.
“Hey, you! I challenge you to a duel!”
“What?”
It was then Yoichi’s turn to be dumbfounded at Graff, who seemed to be already lost in his own delusional thoughts.
“If I win, you will dissolve your party with Alana and never appear before her again!”
(Freaking hell. This cliché scenario, even in this world?)
Yoichi was dismayed because he had somehow half expected this to happen, but at the same time, he also couldn’t help but get a little excited inside.
After all, he has just witnessesed before him one of the cliched tropes that was famous in the books and anime he has read and watched.
