Just realized how a dual-3D-v-cache chip could work, and it's clear why AMD's been hesitant to do it: victim cache. You basically use the 2nd CCD's v-cache to store anything that falls out of the 1st CCD's cache. Getting the data back from that 2nd cache die later is orders of magnitude faster than getting it from RAM. But there's diminishing returns from doing something like this and there's a non-trivial development cost in implementing it, to say nothing of the hardware costs. So there's no way AMD even glances at this idea unless Arrow Lake refresh actually presents a threat to their performance lead.
