2023-10-24 05:52:56 +0000 UTCYou're right: the 'G' in Na-gyeong is pronounced like a soft 'K' or hard 'G' depending on your outlook. She sometimes likes to say her name by emphasizing the two syllables, so it's very easy to tell. When you make Nakko out of it, it has more of a hard sound to it, and indeed, if you write that shortening of her name in Korean, the letter looks very similar but has an additional stroke (ㄱ, soft K, becomes ㅋ, harder K), making it a sharper, harder sound ideal for nicknames. There's also ㄲ, which is a hard G with a sudden but somewhat unique glottal stop. There are other Korean letters that have a similar dynamic, like 'd' and 't' (ㄷ, ㄸ,ㅌ) or 'b' and 'p' (ㅂ,ㅃ, ㅍ). I always wholeheartedly recommend doing a Lingodeer Korean course for anyone interested in learning it (viewers, etc.): it's super quick and super simple. The alphabet in particular is *very* simple; with a few repetitions, it only takes a few hours or so to learn. I'd also recommend going with the year end's awards show and Channel_9 as a whole, but if you're ever interested in a list of fromis special episodes, which range from spending a day with the loud trio and then ha-young and ji-won going out, to cooking with no English in full ancient Korean costume, watching the loud trio get fooled into a fake trip, challenges etc. etc., message me! Those are usually buried deep on their channel, but contain some of the best stuff; way less structured than this, often.

Which kinda makes sense because most of the production crew has moved from Fromis to LS….it’s one of the many reasons Day Off is so good! As for going forward I think the 2021 season would be a good place to continue.
