I joined this late, and I know you asked this like a month ago, but in case you didn't know regarding Minyoung, she has a YouTube channel now called MySsong. She's made at least one song called "midnight" (I think). Apparently it took her 6 years after SIXTEEN to get back into music, but I hope she's doing well, and still wanting to make music. :)

Sixteen was one of the first things I watched as a kpop fan, definitely a trial by fire. The youngest kids were never getting in, they're there for the experience mostly but it's definitely eye opening as to how being a trainee is. A lot rougher than the Produce shows which balance their hardship/success stories pretty even handedly. Long way to go but down the line Produce 48 is well worth a look. Its basically the launch point of the 4th gen, loads of people you'll know from current groups.

Somi was by far my favourite contestant that didn't make it into TWICE! I think she would have been the perfect addition to the group considering she is fluent in English and that is something that I feel TWICE is sorely missing!! Plus she gets along with so many members she's been considered the unofficial 10th member anyway :D

Somi was also the lead for IOI, which was formed from another competition show called "Produce 101". As part of the contract, that group only lasted 1 year.

i'm putting myself through this again because i like seeing people's reaction to sixteen. it really seals the deal for you as a Once and you get to appreciate the members so much more. I can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the episodes :)

Love your reactions! Its's like discovering TWICE for the second time, they take me back to how I felt when I watched these things for the first time and it's amazing 🫶 If you are interested after experiencing SIXTEEN there is a really good documentary called 'Seize The Light' (Released in 2020), it focuses on their TWICELIGHTS 1st World Tour (3rd Tour in general) but they also look back to their trainee days, SIXTEEN days and how the past years as TWICE have been, it is really a good watch

mina might not have trained as long as the others but she kept improving that was how the team saw a potential star in her. After this, before getting to their reality or variety show time to twice, i really hope both of you will check out their documentary called Seize The Light cause from this documentary it'll show how they were originally casted or auditioned, but it is up to you both 😇

this show breaks my heart, but it's still so good!!! i love seeing 3mix (nayeon, jihyo and jeongyeon) interacting, they knew each other for so long before that and went through so much, so it warms my heart to see them being supportive🧡

it's so heartbreaking seeing Somi go through all that because now she is a LITERAL ICONNNNN. Jiwon's vocals are slaying in Fromis9, the Lee sisters are some of the best 4th gen dancers and Twice are queens.

I’m pretty sure minyoung has a youtube channel, but I could be wrong. Jiwon is currently a member of fromis9 and I know y’all have been interested in them so thought I’d throw that out there! I always have trouble watching some parts of this show but overall I do think it was put together really well and is pretty entertaining. I hope you two have fun watching it, it’s definitely a ride

After this you'll have even more respect for all Kpop idols when you see what they go through just to debut. Remember too, JYP is one of the good companies. Some of them treat their artists like indentured servants. Loona and Chuu are examples of that. You will also see the darker side of Korean culture, and Somi (mixed race) will be your introduction to that. JYP's training methods have never failed to create hugely popular groups from Wonder Girls through Miss A, 2PM, Twice, Stray Kids, Itzy, NiziU, Got 7, Day 6, and Nmixx. There will be new groups this year including a Japanese sub-unit formed from Twice.
