I wasn't able to do much work in the shop the past few weeks due to some family stuff that came up, however, I did score something really cool recently. This is a Prysm laser phosphor display, with its internal light engine shown in the first pic. It is basically a CRT TV but with the electron beam replaced by a powerful laser beam. This technology never took off and the company went bankrupt, but it was a really cool idea.
I actually bought one of the light engines in these things years ago, intending to make a vid on that alone. I ended up robbing the huge f-theta lens from it to use in my 100W handheld laser project. Now, I want to make a video about the device itself since it is so interesting. There's little info about how to run them online, but I did find a controller for it on ebay, so I'm hoping it won't be too hard to get it to operate with that. Of course, I'll still play with the powerful laser engine as well.
Stay tuned!
