new video! upgrading a laser welder into a directed energy tower
Added 2024-01-07 00:59:43 +0000 UTCPatreon early viewing of my new video! This video ended up way longer than I was expecting, but that seems to be the trend with my videos recently. I was able to get in quite a few experiments in this one. My only complaint about it is that it's probably the least colorful video I've made. The laser is invisible and the forest is asleep so most shots are lacking in color. Hopefully the extreme range and power of the laser makes up for that.
Now for the daunting task of cooking up a thumbnail for this video lol

2024-01-08 00:58:24 +0000 UTCThis is straight out of Real Genius - extremely impressive! Also, your cat jumping up to get pats at the end of the video is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

2024-01-07 22:22:00 +0000 UTCEver see the end of Real Genius? Try some popcorn wrapped in tin foil? I know it won't be anything like the movie. But one can dream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rthHSISkM7A

2024-01-07 22:07:08 +0000 UTCPhew, so we have some defence against laser wielding terminators.

2024-01-07 18:39:57 +0000 UTCyes dielectric mirrors do a great job reflecting the beam and can actually handle powers wayyyy higher than this. there are at least a few in this system

2024-01-07 15:27:16 +0000 UTCAwesome power. Is it possible to reflect that concentration of energy or will it melt all mirror like material? Probably not practical to cool as fast as it heats. Like a mirror submerged in LN2.

2024-01-07 07:02:37 +0000 UTCI mean this in the nicest way possible but your property gives off "Slender: The Eight Pages" vibes or some other indie horror game (I'm jealous)

2024-01-07 03:29:25 +0000 UTCAwesome bit of tech there. So much fun. Maybe have to make it aimable with out being on the tower. I guess a telescope and camera for sighting as well.
