random after video ramblings

part 4 of the chemical formulary series was a big hit on my channel! this pretty much guarantees a part 5 at some point, but i'll need to post some laser and electricity vids before that.

after i post a vid, i usually take some time to work on non-YT related things, with a large part of that relating to gardening. i actually received a shipment of 500 bare root saplings when i was still working on the video, and since i needed to finish that first, i ended up jamming them all in my fridge to prevent them from breaking dormancy before i could plant them. i have since planted them all, but that sucked having such little fridge space for food. :p

i also had an epic storm chase recently where i encountered the biggest supercell storm i've ever seen, and it ended up producing multiple tornadoes. eventually i'll make a cut of my footage to post on my new side channel. stay tuned!

As a surprise twist, I learn styro has a website. On the site, you'll find a Laser FAQ: https://styropyro.com/laser-faq/ 😄 ...which in turn points to a site that likely answers all your questions and "a bunch of other things" as well. I might even go as far to describe the site as "overwhelming".

my deal is I am 36, a scientist with two degrees and multiple certificates, but I would really like someone to point me to the path they took to learn this stuff. Its not overly complex, it is dangerous, thats why Id like to know what goggles to wear so I dont blind myself and what circuits to study. Stuff like that so that I dont waste my time and make the same mistakes as others did. Maybe theres a book called Ridiculously Overcharged Deadly Lasers for Dummies? 😆

After years of watching styro's videos it's pretty obvious he's being deliberate on not giving exact instructions on how to build things. The same goes with pretty much any other YouTube channel. It would not be a good idea. From what I've heard, there's discussion forums related to topics like this but I doubt anyone on such forums would be willing to help anyone get started. You'll already need to know what you're doing before discussing any advanced topics. This might have been discussed on this entertaining podcast where Styro was featuring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDzSb-g4eNE. :) Goggle recommendations you can however find from the older vids!

It was a great vid...excited for the storm chasing one coming up, your last one was super cool. I'd be interested in some gardening vids too

id like some tutorials on what we need to know to actually build lasers like the microwave one and what equipment to buy, like which goggles are good. But yeah btw this vid was really awesome, I watched it like 3 times .
