Terrifying new laser diode array with an interesting backstory

Check out this insane laser diode array. It's an early engineering sample for a tiny 25mm x 45mm laser diode array *rated* for 95W continuous of blue laser light. The funny thing is that this is supposed to be the solution for hybrid (laser driven) DLP projector manufacturers to people tearing down their products and making powerful handheld lasers out of them. In fact, basically the entire reason you can go on eBay and buy a 1W++ handheld laser for so cheap is because of these hybrid DLP projectors, and the manufacturers are not happy to say the least. Putting the entire laser diode array on one chip prevents them from being separated, but they forgot to account for psychos like me that will jam the entire array inside a laser "pointer" and run it at full power. :D

Pretty sure it's done simply because higher integration saves money in the manufacturing step.

Why would the manufacturers of the projectors care? They're selling projectors either way, and I don't imagine they can be held liable for people tearing down their products so long as they use security screws and put a sticker on it they should be legally in the clear.

the compliance voltage is 90V so it'll be tough to drive
