💛April O´Neil_Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Oh yes, I have been so excited to see this painting! The WIP was just so insanely teasing and sensual, I knew the finished piece would be worth waiting for 💛💛💛💛💛 The colours here are so lovely, the blues in the background have a nice, subtle blend with each other with some vibrant warmth to them. While April's incredibly warm and vibrant tones really pop against the blue background! Looking at her hair, I just love the colour, it's this very warm, orange-brown tone that just looks so beautiful. The lighting is lovely too with the bright tones on top blending smoothly into the shadows below, giving the hair this overall rippling shape as it flows out around April's head. I also really like the sweeping fringe and all of the hair has a great amount of detail in those individual strands 🥰 Her bright, banana-yellow outfit is very striking too and you've done some really great, subtle work with the colours. Specifically by mixing in some blues into the shadows, like on her shoulders and arms, while there almost appears to be a green-blue mixed into the shadows on her hip. Naturally the colours here are incredibly vibrant with the mix of warm and cool tones and it's made even better by your use of light and shadow. The contrast between the brightest tones and the shadows on April are just so striking! I love her thighs with the bright yellow tones framed by cool shadows, same with the strong divide in tone on her lower stomach/pelvis. The breasts benefit greatly too with that warm yellow on the upper tones as the cool shadows wrap around and underneath them. I also really like the thin yellow edge-lighting on the sides of the breasts, making them pop against the shadows on the arms 💛 Speaking of the arms, I love the folds in her sleeves. They have really nice depth with deep shadows and a lovely texture thanks to your smooth blending 💜 The skin tones that we do see here look great too! You did a really nice job on the hands and with her lower hand, I really like the warm, reddish tones mixed into the fingers, same with the warm tones on the elbows too. The light dancing across the fingers of her raised hand also pop really well against the nearby shadows. Her neck, chest and breasts just look perfect too! The skin tones are so warm and smooth and the gradient from light to dark is so soft. I really like her chest above her breasts with a soft light on her right side as it smoothly fades into darker tones on her left, with the lighting along the collarbones popping against the shadows. The breasts have terrific definition with soft lighting in their centres and the way the shadows wrap around them, with thin edge-lighting along the bottom to make them pop against the shadows on her ribs. I also like the little sketchy lines that you left above the breasts. There's other sketchy lines like this in the clothing and it gives the painting this comic-book kind of feel that I really like, it's hard to describe but it looks great! 🥰🥰🥰 And lastly, the face looks gorgeous! The lighting is really striking and I especially like the warm edge-lighting running down her left cheek, contrasting well with the shadows there. The subtle, warm blush on her cheeks is lovely too and I like that the shine on her eyes is more subtle, since they are in shadow. Beautiful work on this piece, Didi!
