Fox McCloud, from "Star Fox"

Star Fox on the SNES was the beginning of me..... not seeing the appeal of 3D/polygonal graphics.
I'd encounted REEEEALLY early polygonal models on the C64. THAT blew me away. By the time we got to the 16bit era, though; 2D sprite work was absolutely delicious. I could not for the life of me work out why people went nuts over a bunch of abstract shapes drifting around the screen when, in 1993, we had the likes of Gunstar Heroes and Rocket Knight Adventures being released.

It definitely had nothing to do with me being a die-hard Sega fanboy.

Virtua Racing still looks good to me though!

I played the 64 version first and to death, so looking back at the SNES version is honestly a bit headache inducing.

In your defense, Sega's Virtua Racing WAS released in arcades the year prior.
