Attention!

Hello everyone, this person decided to not credit me for my animation even when I specifically told them that they have to; whether paid for or not.

They deliberately said what they said in the comments and blocked me right after.

Everyone, please do not strive to be like this person. You HAVE to credit me no matter what, no ifs-ands-or buts.

The fact that they said these things; shows what type of person they are. If you can’t respect another creator's rules you don’t deserve to use their stuff, simple as that.

Thank you all for reading, I just wanted to bring attention to this because I’ve been seeing a lot of people not crediting like they’re supposed to.

[ And to that certain person who said those things, and see's this post... You might as well stop using my animations altogether, I don't feel comfortable with you using them for your content creations. Thank you, kindly. ]

You should be happy that people are buying your motions. This is kinda low that you're putting this starting vtuber on blast. They bought the motions because they liked your work. Even if they dont credit, be happy they paid for it instead of finding them on third party sharing websites.

Miku Hatsune

Whenever I used someone else's motions, I always gave credit to the owner. I'll even put the link to their YouTube channel if I have to! Mei, you deserve better! I always loved your motions, please make more for us! Thank you!❤️

I see

Epicman33456

crazy, it was bound to happen at some point. 😢💔

Obscene Grand Master

I have absolutely no idea why he can't write 3 god damn latters in a row, "MEI". If hes using the motion for himself, he can do whatever he want with it, but if he shows up the motions on a social media site, inside a video game or a movie there has to credit the creator like all other did. Imagine you see a RedBull on "The Avangers - Endgame" and they wouldnt credit the creator. UFF.

Evendora

Crediting is not hard the hell... why are people like this???

Hypa Vox

So sorry this happened!! If I ever forget to credit ( I usually double check) please let me know and I'll fix immediately

Ayumi

Yeah, it's very unfortunate that people do these sorts of things. It's very disrespectful; how are they gonna use someone else's work and not credit them? I know that they'd feel the same way I do if their content was 'stolen' and wasn't being properly credited. But, thank you for trying to do the right thing!

omg I saw the same creator last night on my fyp and I tried to say something about them not crediting you in the comments and i woke up to my comment deleted and being blocked by them, I was going to try to inform you about it somehow but I'm glad you could make a post about it at least I cant believe how rude they were to you! they're literally using mmd motions that other people have made and cant do something as simple of giving credit to the person who did the work?? that is so frustrating, I hope something can be done about it cuz thats so messed up.

YES, THANK YOU. VERY WELL SAID, INDEED.

The way this person tries to justify what they say/did is so stupid. “Do you credit a car you buy?” You technically do, the maker of the car is in the front and back, and the model is usually in the back as well. So by that logic, they should credit you too Mei, and it’s not even that hard, just three letters, but apparently their small brain is unable to comprehend that. And the sheer narcissism for them saying that they “own” the motion because they bought it. Again, by that logic, if I also bought the motion, I can sue their ass, since I also own it. Why do movies and tv shows have credits? To show the people who worked hard on them. But this wise guy, they must think that if they bought a movie dvd on sale at Walmart, it must be okay to upload the same movie on YouTube, since “I bOuGhT iT, sO I OwN iT.” Utter ridiculousness, they shouldn’t be dealing with MMD, because they are more talented as clowns at the circus.

VERY well said. THANK YOU. ♡

Okay so, I did NOT expect Naz to hear me so clearly about said things. :O That was bittersweet to read and I'm so sorry :( Soap box time! I worked for a long time in the Entertainment Industry. There's credits at the end of every show and movie, and an entire site (imdb) dedicated to credits. It's important, and I think the lines get blurred with civilians entering the Entertainment sphere. At least, in their heads. Short story: yes, credit is due. If you forget, that's one thing, but paying for it doesn't change anything. All the movies and shows I worked on as crew STILL. HAS. MY. NAME. in the credits, despite them paying me for my work on the production. "[T]he failure to give... [screen] credit would constitute irreparable injury. Not only would money damages be difficult to establish, but at best they would hardly compensate for the real injury done. A[n] [artist's] . . .reputation, which would be greatly enhanced by public credit for authorship of an outstanding picture, is his stock in trade and it is clear that irreparable injury would follow the failure to give him screen credit if in fact he is entitled to it." Poe v. Michael Todd Co., 151 F. Supp. 801, 803 (S.D.N.Y. 1957) Yes, that's from a case in 1957. Credits are that kind of BIG DEAL. I honestly think laws need to catch up in a major way to the shifting landscape. :/ Lemme say this loudly: We are not paying for a service, we're paying for a right to use something. To borrow a motion, if you will. We're lucky Mei doesn't ask for residuals, and she could do it. And TBH, I'd back her if she chose that route.
