Today, we're gathering ideas for...
...this town's Gym Leader!

Check out pokemonday.woodenplankstudios.com for a better look at the full map.
So we need a type the Gym Leader specializes in as well as how they look! Names for the town are also welcome!
Drop your most creative ideas below!
A contemporary keeper of a small little traditional temple who uses payanda as her ace. Design-wise I’m imagining something like Mei’s mom from Turning Red

Milquetoast rich person with exotic normal type pets, and otherwise not noteworthy outside of that

It looks like a castle, so I’m thinking the whome town/gym can be ren fair or festival themed as a tourist destination. Stumped on names, so maybe Oldtowne for now.
The gym leader upholds honor and fair battles above all else, so no items or gimmicks, but he will heal your Pokémon before the start of the battle. And since I’m way too obsessed with A Knight’s Tale, his name can be Ulrich.

A chateau needs a chef, so a fire type head chef that's signature is a Fire-Fairy Creme-Brule torch.

Castles are made of stone, so maybe a rock-type gym leader? Also, maybe the town could be named "Stonecall town" or something like that.

People are suggesting castle/haunted mansion so all I would like to suggest is that the gym leader has shackles or chains incorporated somehow! :)

Design wise I’m not sure, but it definitely needs to be a steel type gym leader because it looks a lot like a medieval castle; so maybe you could go for a cool Knight design

Some sort of lord but hes too lazy to do it so he has his overworked fairy type butler do it

The first gym for every region tends to be on the easier side to start off with, simply so all players can get accustomed to that. With it, we've had Rock, Bug, Grass, Flying, and Normal (including Trio for Grass/Water/Fire). I'd say to have a Grass Type Gym Leader who is the prince of the town, who's also a botanist that specifically looks into different types of plants for medicines and antidotes (you can insert weed joke here). I'd say he has a gas mask of sorts to give off a hard to approach vibe, while also feeling like they care very much about their people.

Looks like a castle.
How about a gym leader like the guardian temple knight of the holy grail (like from Indiana Jones 3 - Last Crusade)
A Leader who uses steel type pokemon, or with a twist a steel-fairy combo.

A young queen/noblewoman/countess/duchess with a bug Type team, with her ace being some type of butterfly Mon as a take on the term “monarchy”. Her family has acted as a high ranking authority of Chrysality City and it’s Gym for generations, with her being the next in line. Poised, collected, proper, and stern, she takes the hand she has in running the city very seriously and rarely emotes (aside from a noblewoman style laugh every now again at something admittedly funny, though she collects herself quickly afterwards). She finds many Bug Types have a natural elegance and grace, along with appreciation for the order of their ecosystem , but also knows that, like her position as the league’s first Gym Leader, they have the common misconception of being seen as naturally weaker than the rest of the group, as the work she puts in to prove that assumption false complied with her outed exterior has sent many a hopeful young trainer home before their league journey has even begun
Her Gym Test before facing her is to give you a collection of tasks you must complete around town to help keep things in order, whether it be by chasing off ruffians through battle, using and exercising problem solving skills to help a townsfolk with an important job handle an issue, or handling conflict resolution with either of the previous two options. Though some trainers complain that she might just be dumping her chore list on them, she sees it as a way of showing the ins and outs of being in charge of a city to a trainer, as well as testing them and their leadership abilities if they WERE to become Champion. Those who both pass her Gym Test and then defeat her and her Pokémon in a battle are then rewarded with their first Gym Badge: The Nectar Badge!

Grass type could also work.

An average looking dude until you challenge them to a battle that has an entire superhero persona. They have mostly a team of Fighting types, but their ace is Dragonite for some reason

We always just had to deal with one type; maybe we can do something where it’s dual types?
A normal/water dual type gym where it looks like a standard pool gym at first, but when you go through the gym, you gradually start to drain the pool of its water, leading to the end where you fight the gym leader in the middle of the empty pool.
The gym leader would be a pirate who understands the importance of fighting normally and fighting on the water.

A ghost type gym leader who leans into and embraces the “haunted mansion” aesthetic.
As a twist, he could pose as his own “gym guide” dressed as the obligatory butler. And reveal that he was the leader all along after the challengers reach the end of his spooky maze challenge.

A poison type gym where you have to flick switches to get giant fans to blow away clouds of poison.

The gym could be in the dungeon or graveyard of the castle with a ghost type leader who looks like dampe, if we’re continuing with the Zelda theme

Looks like a hydroelectric plant, like a dam. Go completely bonkers and do an electric/water gym leader who used to work as a nuclear technician for the Navy's submarines.

A water type gym leader who is Humanoid sea creature and Maybe he’s a new species of Pokémon, who will fight at the end as his last Pokémon

Ghost-type Gym Leader. Haunted Castle or castle turned into a museum with relics of the past (lore opportunities for the region?). Maybe instead of keeping their Pokémon in Pokeballs, the Gym leader summons the via the object in the castle.

Seems kinda like a castle, so maybe some kind of princess that uses fighting types? She could be a tomboy type character that loves to fight and throw down instead of do any sort of ruling. Although, if a princess is too important of a role for the gym leader to be, she could simply be the daughter to some rich dude.

How about a big, buff, tattooed biker guy with scars who specializes in cute fairy types?

Dark Type to mix things up with the Gym Leader being a former mafia/yakuza leader that reformed.

The town does resemble a little bit of Hyrule, so the Gym Leader could either resemble Zelda or Impa. The gym leader could either use Normal types or Fairy types.

I'd like to propose that, in keeping with the theme of "mixing things up", we have dual type gym leaders. So, this gym would be in the overgrown castle, meaning the gym would use both grass and rock type pokemon. The gym leader would be a butler, tending to the castle still in honor of a long vanished royal family.

The gym isn't themed around a specific Pokémon type, but instead around the double-battle mechanic (2 Pokémon from each side are on the battlefield at once). The gym leaders are a married couple who dress as you might expect them to have at their wedding.

An elderly person dressed for birdwatching who specializes in Flying types and keeps looking through their binoculars every few seconds. With all them trees around there's bound to be a few birds living nearby

Town has quite a stony look, so probably a rock type gym leader?
Could have a lady of the manor who likes Jewelry and gemstones and wears a bunch of them
Alternatively, could throw everybody off and just have a butler gym leader who uses dark types for a "the butler did it" murder mystery trope
Maybe Saxum town for the name
