Hidden Details: Big-O-Blaster-Chief

Welcome to the one-hundredth-and-ninth episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Link to the comic for your convenience

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There ONE Loss, TWO Balthazars and NO JoJo references. Bonus panels don't count.

1: Piranha Plant is getting a lot bigger! I'd say he's going through puberty right now.
2:
Hahaha yeah, those are just some buttons, Trigger. But you're right, there's a Pikmin peacefully sleeping in the pot in the first panel.
3:
Isabelle is wearing her fall sweater! Glad you noticed that, Jon Brouse.
4:
Yep, Olimar is still a plant. You can see his leaf in the first panel. We'll probably have to wait for me to forget about this and draw his regular antenna, FoxdocDylan.
5:
Isabelle is apparently wondering if Greninja can be brought into Sinnoh, as seen on the board and as pointed out by edmg7. Little foreshadowing there.
6:
Yep, Isabelle originally wrote Hisui but crossed it out and replaced it with Sinnoh, since Sinnoh was originally called Hisui. Good catch, Tejayes.
7:
Isabelle also already wrote down some options that could help revive Pokémon, like a Pokémon Center, Revives, Xerneas and Arceus. Wonder which one I'll end up picking, Erin. (Not that I know myself, I'm making this all up as I go)
8:
Since I forgot Balthazar last week, I put two of them in this comic. The first one is the very first Fake Monday fakemon Baltaban, appearing as a scribble on the board in the first panel. Glad you noticed him, Zanreo!
9:
There's also a... Dicklett with two Poké Balls scribbled on the board, as pointed out by PLANTMAN.
10:
Yep, the fighters apparently have to remind themselves (just like I have to) that Link is still locked in that shrine in Hyrule, as you can see on the board. Good eye, Put 9-Volt In Smash Bros Please.
11:
There's some subtle nods to friendships/comradery going on in this comic. Both Shelby Kinkead and Zach pointed out a few: Master Chief revives "his friends" Banjo and Kazooie because they're both Microsoft IP's, and King K. Rool, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are visibly involved in this plot because they're all Rare buddies!
12:
Correct Aris! The dialogue between Gruntilda and Chief is a reference to his "Mind what you're doing x" quote!
13:
There's a little crewmate on the B.O.B. screen in the third panel. Sharp eyes, Cameron Devera!
14:
Correct John Hattan, apparently Master Chief has logged into the B.O.B., since his Spartan name is visible (John 117) on the screen.
15:
Yep, this week's loss is visible on Master Chief's wrist in the fourth panel. You have had the honor of finding it this week, TaNi!
16:
God, I had forgotten about that little 420 in the fourth panel. But you're right Noah, it's there.
17:
The second Balthazar is visible in the fifth panel, in the background behind Master Chief, looking on from the top of a cliff. You found him, Luke!
18:
Once again Phloxiana points out a wholesome detail. Or should I say materialistic detail? Anyway, Wolf is very happy to have his Wolfen back in the final panel.
19:
Ah, yeah, I hadn't counted this one, but I guess I should. I replaced "guest starring" with "thank you" in the revived Smash fighter chart to honour Chief. You're absolutely correct, Pandocula.
20:
I'll give you a point for this one, GainergettingHuger, because it's an interesting tidbit: I have never played Banjo-Kazooie so I had no idea Gruntilda always rhymes her scentences. Still, it worked in this comic because she was interrupted by Chief's assault rifle.

Many details on Isabelle's flip-over, but please remember to comment only one!

Next week, I'll reveal all the details that haven't been found. These ones are written in italic.

Hidden Details: Big-O-Blaster-Chief

Comments

you really need to play banjo and kingdom hearts

GainingGamer

Gruntilda should have taunted players when she shows up. Grunty: Blue streak speeds by, too fast for the human eye, there's nothing he can't do, except for saving Pikachu.

Alan-Michael White

I think he had his fur back for a while now... right?

Wooden Plank Studios

There’s a picture of an among us crew mate on the device screen for b.o.b

Matthew Gallelli

This is not me mentioning a hidden detail, this is me thinking about a possibility considering the events in the previous comic

Shelby Kinkead

I just realized something, in the previous comic Sora put a Donald hat on Falco and in this one they’re foreshadowing the revival of the Pokémon fighters… Does that mean that Lucario will end up wearing the Goofy hat?

Shelby Kinkead

There is a reminder on the board to not forget to revive the Link still stuck in reviving chamber from BOTW.

Supercharged (CEO of 9-Volt)

Idk if this counts, but there’s a rather interesting shape of a diglett on the first panel

FireLime

Grunty didnt rhyme! probably tooie grunty with bob and sisters watching her

GainingGamer

There’s a sleeping red pikmin in the plant pot in the first panel.

ColdSlayerxd

User: john 117

THEx

Master chief, do you mind telling me what you're doing [insert master chief's current actions]

Aris

The dialogue in the third panel is a reference to the popular meme of similar dialogue:

Aris

Wolf is hugging his arwing in the final panel.

Pokedude14

Isabelle’s in her fall outfit.

Jon Brouse

Amoungus on B.O.B

DraftyCoast

Donkey Kong and Diddy celebrating Banjo's return, as well as K. Rool being the one worried they disappeared, is a reference to their trailer and shared Rare history.

Zach

A Balthazar drawing on the board... or should I say Baltabun, the first Fake Monday Fakemon

Zanreo

Wolf is happy that his beloved Wolfen is still intact in the last panel.

Phloxiana

Questioning if Greninja can be brought to Sinnoh because it's not in BDSP

edmg7

Master Chief's number changes to 420 on his armor when they're being revived.

Noah

Wait a second, I think it's just a pair of buttons hahaha I'll point out the sleeping Pikmin in the first panel instead.

Trigger

Incineroar managed to grow back his fur, though it may not last long with Peach and Daisy around

Luffink

Loss is on Master Chief's wrist in panel 4 (when the button is pressed)

I feel like Master Chief being the one to revive Banjo and Kazooie makes the most sense since while they (the bear and bird) were originally Nintendo characters they were moved to Microsoft so i feel it’s almost poetic. Also something tells me that Olimar is going to have that Pikmin leaf on his head for quite sometime!

Shelby Kinkead

On the last panel, its say "Thank you Master chief"

Pandocula

arceus and xernas are mentioned on the wb, as one is the creator of the universe and the other the god of life, making them ideal candidates for revival!

Erin

Isabelle crossed out Hisui and replaced it with Sinnoh, which is true to Gen 4 lore.

Tejayes

Olimar’s still a plant :)

Foxdoc

There's a diglet with 2 pokeballs that looks like a peepee in the first panel Edit: Ok I think I got sniped so my other guess is there is what appears to be Mr. Bucket (?) on the mountain behind the Wolfen in the 2nd to last panel

A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends

Diglett pee pee on the board

PLANTMAN

There's a pair of mean looking eyes behind Banjo & Kazooie in the second last panel. Who is it?

Trigger

Among Us reference on the 4th panel!

Cameron Devera

Gruntilda's computer lists master chief as his spartan designation, John 117

John Hattan

There is a Balthazar peeking over the cliff when master chief is setting the autopilot

Luke
