Hidden Details: Unexpected Wassistance

Welcome to the ninety-first episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There ONE Loss, ONE Balthazar, and NO JoJo reference. Bonus panels don't count.

1: Kazuya's kart is breaking under the weight of all the Mushroom Kingdom characters in the first panel (but mostly Bowser). Carrick RaccoonBro Inabnett noticed it first!
2: Outside of Waluigi's windows, one can clearly see the Mushroom Kingdom. I had to make sure that was noticeable because I drew the exterior of his house in that Sephibutt comic. Good catch, Gavin Walker.
3:
Waluigi has some roses in his office, which indeed seem to be a theme with him, Put 9-Volt In Smash Bros Please. I'll admit it's what inspired me to put lover in his title, hahaha.
4:
Next to that, his tennis racket is also proudly showcased. Erin noticed it first. I put the racket in there because he debuted in Mario Tennis and every time I see fan-made movesets for Waluigi the tennis racket is always included.
5: Waluigi has a little name plate on his desk that reads "Waluigi - Pro tennis player, kart racer, lover". Obviously referencing his appearances in Mario Tennis, Kart and his sensuality. Found by Magnus first.
6:
Finally, the last prop behind Waluigi is a drawing of the kanji 悪 (waru), which means bad or evil. Apparently Wario's name is based on this kanji, so I assumed Waluigi's name is, too. Good catch, Werwally.
7:
Correct Dirtydan8991! Waluigi is indeed talking about Drifloon while discussing how messed up their universes are. There were a few other Pokémon I could choose from but Drifloon whisking kids away to the afterlife is pretty much the darkest I could remember.
8:
You're right Daniel Myhre, they just threw the old Yoshi in the trash can. Poor guy.
9:
Lakitu makes yet another appearance, once again as a camera man/photographer. This is indeed referencing him being the camera in Super Mario 64 but also his previous appearance in the comic from one week earlier, Tejayes.
10:
A LOT of people mentioned this one, but Luke was first: one of the floating islands in the the background of the sixth panel is sus.
11: This week's loss was indeed on Kazuya's glove in the first panel: the little round bead things form a loss. Glad you found it again, Trigger.
12: Balthazar made a subtle appearance as a little silhouette in the fourth panel, as found by Cameron Devera!

Finally, two errors:

13: One found by John Hattan: I messed up Mario's colours and inverted them. Also, he should have been wearing his psychologist outfit. I think I might retcon this soon but for now, enjoy the mistake.
14: I accidentally flipped the L on Waluigi's gloves. Hawk-eyed Zora Marslink noticed it.

After one week, I'll reveal all the details that haven't been found. These ones are written in italic.

Comments

Umm I think werwally and I commented on the same thing within minutes of each other since I don't recall seeing theirs when I did mine...

GainingGamer

Please only submit one hidden detail per comic. I'll count the name tag!

Wooden Plank Studios

I see that the Imposter is sus in panel 6. Don’t think I can’t see that island, cloud…whatever that floating thing is in the background

Artlover95

Incineroar and Kirby’s shadow combine to make sans

C B

The hills seen outside of the window show that the characters travelled to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Gavin Walker

The L on Waluigi's left glove flips between panels.

Waluigi has the Kanji for bad or waru 悪 hanging in his office, which is where his name comes from being bad luigi

GainingGamer

Roses appear next to Waluigi, as a reference to how he always seems to have a rose on him due to being a lover.

Supercharged (CEO of 9-Volt)

Panel 6: Sus cloud with among us

Radioactive-Plant

Like his sign says, Waluigi's a lover... not a (Smash) fighter

Zanreo

Panel 6: AMONG US-shaped floating island

Emanuele Diletti

Mario's back in inverted overalls and not his Therapist outfit

John Hattan

The stripey, colorful hills in the Panel 1 window intimate that Waluigi's house is in a grassy Mushroom Kingdom area.

Tejayes

Lakitu is taking the picture as a reference to how in SM64 Lakitu controls the camera.

Conner K

Mr. Among Us, already talked about it in the Discord server when it came out (or was it actually before…? I actually don’t know…). The Kanji symbol for Evil (I think it was). Waluigi’s name ‘tag’ “Pro Tennis Player, Kart Racer, Lover”.

Magnus

Waluigis talking about drifloon, the Pokémon who carries children to the afterlife

Dirtydan8991

A crewmate from Among Us on the sixth panel

Daniel Fernandez

They just threw the old Yoshi in the trash.

Pokedude14

Bowser broke the wheelbarrow

Cherry

Yep!

Wooden Plank Studios

I think the kanji in the 3rd panel stands for evil or bad. Maybe a reference to the face that waluigi is Luigi's evil counterpart?

Are we only allowed to submit one detail?

Carrick RaccoonBro Inabnett

What is a loss guys?

Giwrgos Gyftopoulos

The 4th panel has Balthazar!

Cameron Devera

waluigi's tennis racket is on the wall!

Erin

Loss on Kazuya's right gauntlet in the first panel.

Trigger

There’s an island in the background of the sixth panel that looks like an among us character

Luke
