Welcome to the eighty-fourth episode of the Hidden Details blog!
Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".
Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!
There ONE Loss, ONE Balthazar, and NO JoJo reference. Bonus panels don't count.
1: Kapp'n's bus is still visible in the background, just like last week. Good eye, Youmg.
2: Likewise, the cooler where Luigi's hands were in last week is visible as well. Good eye as well, Zach.
3: Correct Luke, Ethan is indeed wearing a Dodo Airlines sleeping mask. They probably hand those out on Kapp'n trips.
4: And yep, Loss is in the same place as it was in the previous comic: on Samus' soda bottle. Nicely found, Tejayes.
5: Samus' missing arm cannon is not Ethan solidarity, John Hattan. I just removed the arm cannon because it looked like she was going to blast her own face off instead of looking confused in the first panel.
6: There's a Kazooie chick sleeping on the roof. Good catch Marwan Abunura! They're growing up fast.
7: The Villager is chasing after a Queen Alexandria Birdwing butterfly. These show up in May (the current month) in Animal Crossing!
8: Luma is not amused when Isabelle grabs her, and she's even less amused when she throws her away again. Nicely noticed, Daniel Myhre.
9: I initially had the Inkling speak, but then I remembered she can't, so I made her say woomy.
10: One of Min Min's noodles does indeed land on Mario's nose in the final panel, Put 9-Volt In Smash Bros Please.
11: Chris holding a boulder and asking people to go boulder-punching with him is, of course, a reference to his infamous boulder-punching moment in Resident Evil 5. Even Heisenberg references this in Village.
12: Balthazar is visible in the fourth panel, in the background in the yard. He's very smol, but I'm glad you found him, Stutterinman.
13: Inkling girl is cleaning her ink-gun-thing after an intense Splatoon match. I have often wondered who cleans the ink after they've been at it. I might have even done a comic about it at some point? I can't remember. Anyway, thanks for noticing, NorwegianSkull.
14: And yes Erin! Thanks for pointing out that this comic is very much a fourth-wall commentary on how annoying it is for us viewers to never see Ethan's face. It's frustrating to realize that every single NPC and enemy (even the chickens in the village) know what Ethan looks like, but we don't.
After one week, I'll reveal all the details that haven't been found. These ones are written in italic.
