Hidden Details: Fake Friends

After the wonderful reactions to the last Fortnite comic, I immediately decided to make another one. I also have to admit they're lots of fun to make, mostly because I discovered I love to create those Fortnite backgrounds. There's something fun about drawing those fields, hills, trees and lakes and I'm not sure what it is. But I'm loving it.

As usual, there's a bunch of hidden and not-so-hidden details in this one. I wasn't even trying this week. It just happens.

You see that HUD in the top right corner of every frame? It counts towards the betrayal in the final two frames. In the first panel, you can see there's still 94 players in the game. In the next panels, the number of players alive drops to 89, 68 and 24, respectively. In the fifth panel, there's only six players left. That's the moment the other default skin betrays my friendship and kills me in order to be in the top 5. Also, I never kill anyone during this comic, as the kill counter indicates.

The fake friend is another default skin, by the way. I based those two skins on these pictures, and I have to admit I'm not completely sure if these actually appear in the game:

There's also a hidden detail you won't notice if you view the panels of this comic separately. But when you see them all together, you'll notice those flowers in frame 3, 4 and 5 actually extend across those frames.

I decided to take the first comic and do a similar gag, since that comic also ended with me being owned by another player. Last time, it said "coolkidyeet2004 humiliated a27yearoldguy". This week, it says "secretlypro betrayed AbelHagen's trust :("

Among the loot that drops when I have been eliminated is a Legendary Rocket Launcher, which is - apparently - one of the most powerful weapons in the game. I thought it was funny to suggest that I was carrying an awesome weapon all this time and never used it, since I'm such a noob.

That pose of me in the crater is a direct copy of Yamcha from Dragon Ball Z, by the way. This image has been used as a meme a lot. I wanted to replace the little Saibamen-hand (the green claw) with something Fortnite-related but I couldn't think of anything clever/funny so I dropped the idea.
