Sketches - Autumn 2024
Added 2024-12-25 15:33:06 +0000 UTCThe second half of 2024 included many attempts to expand my art abilities into more traditional techniques. While I like line art inking (that I usually gave cel some shading for completeness), I feel that striving for a more realistic, high-contrast stylized shading benefits the stronger, forced perspective angles I enjoy constructing.
I need to create many more drawings so I continue to improve my shading, and my 2025 goals include actually doing and completing the intermittent week drawing gauntlets where I simply full out a canvas of as many figures as I can in an effort to improve. Especially considering I'm aiming to make some short comics of varying content. As with many artists, I struggle with a perfectionism that I don't feel in earned of my current skill level, and I need to dismantle those anxieties by just drawing a lot, and quickly, so said anxieties don't have time to take hold.
Thank you for patience in these last few months. My poor and rather old computer as since been sent to the farm, and I built a new one that so far seems properly optimized for handling art software at much, much higher resolutions. 4k will be my new minimum size, but expect some images to be 6-8k resolution.
