Thank you so much! Unfortunately, these two mods cannot be combined because they essentially serve as main menu overrides. I would have to recreate the same feature in my mod, but I’m not sure about incorporating a very specific feature from another mod into mine to respect the work of other creators. I’ll see what I can do, though!

This is such a lifesaver for the ad glitch! I thought it was my UI mods breaking until I played with no mods. The flow of the game is so nice with your refreshed loading screen too. My one problem is that I can't use thepancake1's "skip main menu and map" mod to load straight into my household while this mod is taking care of the ad glitch. Is it possible to make this mod (or 3.0) compatible with the menu skip mod, or to create a standalone ad fix?

Yes, it’s compatible! But the base file is large because of the old format this previous version uses. The Refreshed Main Menu 3.0 base cuts the size down to just a few megabytes, and it only grows depending on how many backgrounds you add.

I hate to ask this of you because you are different than other creators. We are all different from each other. I love your main menu mod. I just can't stand how small my family is.. And unfortunately, I'm going to compare it to another main menu mod by Lijou ( https://www.patreon.com/posts/main-menu-121080986 ), and yours and theirs are quite similar, except you have the glitch fix which I need and you have the beautiful background photos. So of course I chose yours, but they have the family nice and big on the main screen. And I really like how big it is... Is there any way you can make a version? Or could you tell me how to edit a file to make the family appear big on the main screen? I don't mind going in and editing any file that you tell me to in order to get the family to appear big like that. because I don't have any right to ask you to create a new version of your main menu mod just because I want the family to appear bigger. I'm more than happy to do it myself if you just give me a few simple instructions. The link above is to their main menu mod and you can see how big the family is.

Matt, I'd just like to say your overrides are excellent. It feels like I'm playing Sims 4 in an alternate universe with your mods installed in the best way possible and it breathes much-needed fresh life into an otherwise aging game.

I think your best bet is to run your own testing. 1) Take out all except this mod. 2) Run the game and see if it's working okay. 3) Close the game and add in half of your mods, run the game again and see if the issue returned. If it's back, then the conflict is between this mod and one of those you added. Take them out again to a separate folder where you can keep adding in some at a time as you keep looking for which one triggers the conflict.

I think the latest update broke this mod a bit. Nothing major but some UI elements are a bit wonky and it's hard to read the new pack intros when those are installed. I hope this mod won't need a new update for every hotfix & patch for your sake :(

Unfortunately, only a few of the features work for me. I still experience the blue screen glitch, as well as not being able to use the hot keys. I have everything installed as stated. I'm not sure if I have a conflicting mod or not, but I did remove anything related to the Main Menu. I'll try to troubleshoot it some more and find anything that could be causing the issues. Update: I was the issue LOL. Apparently when I was installing the custom backgrounds in my mod folders I forgot to grab the MainMenu package file. So, in conclusion I need to double check behind myself. I'm so sorry!

Hey! Thank you 😊 You can organize the files however you like, there’s no specific requirement :) The intro override mod comes in two versions, one with SulSul and one without. Just make sure you’re using the right one and don’t have any other intro overrides in your game!

Wow, thank you for the update, so can I make a folder inside my Mods folder called Simmattically - Refreshed Main Menu v.2.0 and put all the backgrounds and those optional files I need all in there together with SimMattically_RefreshedMainMenu_BASE.package all in the same folder, does it work? I also love your other Intro Mod, where the Sul Sul should be heared, I installed it days ago, opened my game but I couldn't hear any Sul Sul. I have Scripted Mods and everything enabled and I always clear my caches. Thank you for the update, it's amazing. I love how you include every feature in this mod. Sounds like you’re using two different mods for the main menu at the same time. Make sure you’re only using Refreshed Main Menu and no other main menu override.

Its okay, I managed to fix it! Make sure to delete the thumbnail cache files in your sims folder, local thumbnail cache and then the thumbnail cache folder I think its called? It sorted my issue out

Hi, this mod seems to glitch out for me, it leaves this semi-transparent overlay over the top so I can't click load save or anything, I can only press the top right x that closes apps on my laptop. This then brings up the close sims menu which I can click but everything else cannot. This has only happened today, it started with the old one so I updated it to the new one which still has the issue, could it be incompatible with any map overrides or something?

I suggest first deleting cachestr, onlinethumbnailcache, game version.txt, localthumbcache! I always do this in the case of any update and when changing or updating mods that change the interface of the game. And also as an extra step I'd suggest going to the EA app and selecting to repair the game. I *do* want to note though that if you have any in-game lighting mods, that you'd have to reinstall them as repairing the game will remove them and set the game back to its original lighting. I do hope this helps though!

Thank you so much for getting this out so quick despite what your going through! My menu is back to being amazing!!! the fact that "The" and "Household" are stuck onto the loaded save (Meaning my custom households look a little silly, like The Trio being The The Trio Household) so it does bug me, but I assume thats hardcoded. I do also kinda miss the sims being in the frame but I get thats not the goal of the replacement. Just super happy to have this! and with rotating backgrounds now???? You've outdone yourself in such a short time!

Thank you! 😊 Regarding the background color during re-rolling, I’m not sure what’s causing the difference. On my Mac, the background is black, but it shows up as white when testing on Windows. I’ll look into alternative methods to set the color consistently across platforms.

I'm not too familiar with mods for TS4, this is one of the few that I have, but since updating, my right main menu bar has been flickering like crazy, do you know if there's a good way to check for conflicts or if it's a case of checking one-by-one? I haven't seen anybody else report this issue so I imagine it's just on my end. I love this mod, by the way, thank you so much! (Edit: Turns out I didn't install the backgrounds correctly, that's all, my bad!) Suggestion: When re-rolling the background, is it possible to have it be a different colour instead of white, something a little gentler on the eyes, perhaps?

The mod has been updated and should be working, so I’m not sure what the issue might be in your case. That’s why I asked which version of the mod you’re running. It should say Refreshed Main Menu 1.5.1a in the game, next to the game version.

The list is incorrect - my mod fully supports the rewards, and I’ve tested it myself. :) My friends also don't report any issues. If the Grim Reaper’s rewards weren’t working with my mod installed, it’s likely because you were using an outdated version.

My mod doesn’t remove any functionality from the original main menu. :) Regarding compatibility with other mods, it depends on the other creators. As long as they don’t override the main menu or their override is optional, everything will work fine.

I checked my mod on multiple machines, with both Windows (DX9 and DX11) and macOS. Everything works as intended, and there are no BE reports showing up. If you encounter any issues, please ensure that your Refreshed Main Menu mod shows version 1.5.1a in the bottom right corner of the main menu and that your game version is 1.109.185. If you still have issues with the mod, make sure there’s no conflict between mods and that no other mod that you have is outdated.

Yes, it works "as intended." The original icon for the Scenarios button is colorful and stays the same even when you hover over it, so it’s always visible regardless of the background. My optional file changes the icon to white, so when the background becomes white, they blend together. :) Not ideal, but it is what it is. :\

Oh, I'm extremely sorry!! I have completely missed the "this feature is linked with packs and scenarios as well" part and thought it was a bug. As for the button, it's a bit difficult to explain in words. I am aware that the Packs, Kits, and Scenarios are initially hidden, and I mentioned this in the post under the "features" section. Regarding the Scenarios button, my custom icon is white, and the button turns white when you hover the mouse over it, so it makes the icon not visible. I’m not sure this is what you mean...?

Chu~ 'm extremely sorry for bothering you, but I have encountered an issue with this mod: the custom scenarios simply disappear. I also noticed that for Packs and Kits to appear when choosing their tab for the first time, I first have to click on one of the menu choices (such as "My Kits", "My packs", etc.), otherwise they also stay hidden. Sadly, there are no options to click on in the Custom Scenarios to reveal them. I don't have the same issue with Dynamic Granite Falls. UPD: I have found the culprit - it's the hidden News tab. When I pressed S, the scenarious appeared along with the news. Press S again, and not only does the news disappear, but also the custom scenarious selection. It's the same for Kits and Packs. Is it supposed to work like this? P.S. Also, the custom Custom Scenarios button stops being transparent and flashes white when I hover my mouse over it. The top of the button remains unchanged on the pannel, however, as if drawn on top of it.

It’s compatible with some of the previous versions. I can’t say for sure if it’s compatible with your version, so the best thing to do is download the mod and try it. In the worst case, it won’t work.

You can also use Better Exceptions mod with my mod installed and that should give you a file that will open in the browser once you get the white screen. If there's anything wrong with my mod, it should tell me exactly what the issue is.

hellooo!! i love your menu mods sm but with the current version, every time i boot up the game after the initial loading screen it only shows a blank white screen :( i made sure that the old files were removed, tried redownloading the files, deleting the localthumbcache file, testing different background files and running the game with only your mod but it doesn’t seem to work :( i only downloaded the base file and one background file “glade”, no optional files

So far, through testing, I've found that everything else about the mod works perfectly fine, nothing else appeared to be broken at all, so I'd say it's currently safe to have ingame aside from the scenario addon, might require some further checking though. Appreciate you immensely, Matt, your mods are a staple in my game. <3

hey, something strange is happening when I switch TS4 over to DX11 mode- the Scenario Button addon seems to break and I'm left with a llama placeholder icon. Tested this in both regular DX9 and DX11 and it only seems to break on the latter. Not sure why, but everything else works completely as intended. Just thought I'd leave a little note in case anyone's having the same issue ^^;

I don't think this is an issue with my main menu, but probably some other CC or mod. I am unable to replicate this in my game. The best way to check it is to launch the game ONLY with my mod installed after previously removing "localthumbcache.package" file from The Sims 4 folder.

This new updated version is causing texture issue in my game :( I use the BASE and the Mt. Komorebi Train BG, located directly in my Mods folder. When i remove the BG and just have the BASE, it's fine. If I add the BG, it causes issue.

Hi again, this was totally a fault on my part. I had Dark Mode UI and forgot to delete the Start Menu overlay so obviously that wrote over your screen, no other conflicts ofc <3

If you see my credit at the bottom of the screen, it means that the game is actually loading the core mod, so my only idea is that there might be a conflict with another mod. Just to be sure, before installing the latest version of the mod, you must remove the previous, old files. They won't be patched or overwritten when you install the new version because I changed the naming. You can also try running the game with only my mod installed to see if there's a possible conflict with another mod.

I've been trying to get this mod to work ever since it was publically released because it's just too damn gorgeous! Sadly ever since this modular update with all the different versions, I can't get it to load into my game- I just get the regular EA screen. However, the replaced scenarios icon, the animated logo and the text that gives you credit at the bottom of the menu remain. I've redownloaded it several times but nothing seems to work. Your old main menu replacements worked well for me.

Make sure to remove any of the old files first. I have changed the file naming and how the mod works, so you can't just overwrite the old files. Then download the latest version and follow the instructions from the post! :)
