Nah they're good.

There’s a Handbook episode where Sean & Hayes relitigate the time they were on tour and didn’t get breakfast together. These are my favourite episodes

Vincent J Ives

I'd be ok with no more X-Mas specials SO LONG as we get more true-crime podcasts ala the hot dog one.

Jason Wendleton

Poop a dick

Ryan Myers

Ha–ha good one, cool man without depression

Peter Vidani

lmao people giving their opinions about podcast host's relationship with each other is peak cringe

Mauricio Diocis

Maybe a bad or good time to mention I have always skipped the Christmas specials! I have been listening since almost the beginning and Doughboys is my favorite podcast. I am just not a huge fictional story podcast or improv fan and during the holidays there's less time for pods. Anyway I think lots of hosts legit do relationship therapy, so maybe Emma can make you an appointment.

I think you guys are just going through what any creative partnership goes through. I've definitely thought off and on about quitting my creative pursuit (a band) for years because it becomes quite draining and even if you love the people you work with, they can become quite burdensome in your mind (perhaps because you love them). I will provide the one dissenting opinion in that I didn't love any of the Christmas Specials (sorry! I think podcasts just aren't ideal for that type of improv), but I know you guys work super hard on them. So I for one, would not mind them going away. That said, Doughboys is my favorite podcast of all time and nothing will ever top your guys' yin and yang dynamic. Even listening to this episode—which was essentially like listening to a couple's therapy session—provided me with so much joy and laughter and bittersweet feelings. You guys are truly a gift to the podcasting world and I am beyond ecstatic for what's to come. Thank you for all that you do.

Jackson Wright

I've listened to each Christmas special episode at least five times, probably more. Surely at least 99 other people have repeated listens. Less mental friction and more physical friction in 2023!

Lot going on in this episode and I’m ecstatic to hear that you’re back in the studio next year, for me that’s where a lot of the magic comes from. But really I just came here to note that while the rate of circumcisions in the US is 70%, worldwide it’s only like 33%, even taking into account the very large populations where it’s a religious practice. So it’s not even that the US has joined in on a popular practice for the wrong reasons, it’s that’s the US has voluntarily adopted a very unpopular practice that owes its worldwide prevalence only to religious requirement.

Matthew Giles

I really like the specials. They are hilarious. Just so you know where I'm coming from. That said, they are absolutely not worth losing your minds over. I'd rather have a few more years of Doughboys than one more Christmas special followed by a murder/suicide. And either one of you could be the murderer

David Brown

haha yea it was Jack Allison. The Creator of Everyone loves Raymond. Famous show runner rich asshole, Jack Allison.

Sylvester Slurpsbone

The unlocked Wiger Alone episode was what convinced me to get the Patreon years ago. But I wouldn't unsubscribe if they stopped. I love them but they sound like a hassle for everyone involved.

Bry-N

I LOVE the Christmas specials!!!!!

Jacob

I laughed. I cried. I came.

David Brown

It really would be a bummer if you guys stopped doing the Christmas specials as I love them and always find them amazing. I've listened to them all multiple times. But it's up to you guys to do what is best for you.

Brennan Wibbels

Show runner/world traveller they refer to? Phil Rosenthal: Popeyes 3

Israel

Someone who likes to be fed on Netflix

Jan D.

Trying to figure out who the bad guest they allude to was. J*** A*****? Not that that ep was bad, of course, just trying to figure out the clues

JB

I do love the Christmas specials. I usually listen to them while I wrap presents on Christmas morning. I have a few laughs at Holiday themed cum jokes, and it puts me in a good mood, before dealing with the extended family. Having said that, anything you guys do is funny! I love them as is, but I'm sure I would love something less elaborate too!

ageeogee

MY LADY AND I LOVE THÉ FUCKING XMAS SPECIALS!!!!!!!!! WE APPRECIATE THE WORK SO HARD!!!

Dank Stephan

“They are gorgeous stairs” ❤️

Leelu Baloo

This ep. made me cry 🤍 and also laugh! I want the best for you all, I will be happy with whatever you choose to do with Doughboys and your careers. Hang in there Mitch, and be kind to yourself.

Gurl Luigi

Y'all do whatever it takes to stay happy and healthy! We love everything you do, especially the Christmas specials, but your mental health is what is most important!

Field Allison

love the specials, but if ya don't wanna do something, don't do it!

bloodflart

Instant All Timer. A transparent look into the vitality of the most important creative partnership of our time. Thank you boys (and Emma.)

HT Miller

I think I speak for every patron when I say that we’re all with you Mitch! Whatever you’re going through, I hope it all works out.

Nick Strauss

I love the specials. But I understand that they're a pain in the butt to make.

dat ass is my boss

The Doughboys Christmas Special is always a highlight of my holiday season!

Cliffie Mathieson

It’s definitely enjoyed by more than 100 people, but… You Do You, Doughboys.

jnortie

I hope the Christmas special keeps happening. It's my favorite listen of the year and I think Wige Hard is maybe the funniest thing I've ever listened to. I re listen to them all every year. That being said, I'll keep listening and love the boys and the pod and everyone involved no matter what.

Jon Maxwell

I listen to the specials every year. That being said, stay healthy and happy DBs! Thank you for the hours of laughs. Also if we are pitching closed restaurants, Alice Coopertown in Phoenix, AZ.

VHSMIA

I for one love the Xmas specials

Doc Brown

Wow. What an episode.
