My wife asked I post her question: Hi Doughboys, Yusong, Emma, & Drop King! Lifelong Taco Bell fan, but this year I tried a Baja Blast Zero for the first time (or so I thought). It was amazing, I went back multiple times to get a large because I couldn't believe how delicious and addicting it was for Zero calories! Every time I ordered directly at the drive thru (not the app) and specified the "Zero" multiple times, and never got any response other than an OK. Then, one day, at the exact same drive thru the nice worker told me that they didn't have BB Zero. I confirmed, do you just not have it today or have you never had it? He said they've never had the Zero at that location. I was in shock, no wonder it was so delicious it was regular Baja Blast! Obviously the next day I drove to a different TB and ordered both a regular and a Zero to confirm what I've been drinking, it was a regular, and I had been duped for MONTHS into drinking a large full sugar and calorie Baja Blast! For instance we have a burger chain called Wimpy which I think originated in the US and now seems to be only here in Britain. Hey there all y’all! When I was nine or ten me and my dad had some avocado slices as a part of a bougie snack spread at a neighborhood bbq. Extremely sorry to send a suggestion, but I’m writing it because Carl Tart mentioned his love for Blue Bell ice cream on the pod before. Since it isn’t available west of Arizona, there’s an expensive special ordering option ($120+ for four half-gallons). Southerners might have a bias for Blue Bell, but if mr. Tart was open to it, it’d be a treat for y’all and southern listeners to try a few varieties. Their homemade vanilla & cookies and cream are great executions of classic flavors, and they have some great seasonal varieties (Southern Blackberry Cobbler is a gem). Sorry again for a pitch, but as creamsmen you’d be giving yourselves a (-n expensive) gift.

At some point they got sent a cease and desist order, but after proving they used the name first through old newspaper ads, were allowed to keep using it. Trying this Q again! From 1976 to 1987, the Swedish government owned and operated the fast food chain CLOCK. Among its items: the Big Mac-inspired Big Clock. Its main competitor at the time was indeed McDonald's -- and from what I can recall, Clock more than held its own. In 1991, the state sold off Clock to a private owner, and it quickly fell on hard times. The last of the original locations closed in 1999. Howdy fellas, just want to say that after fifteen years in food service, the last few months have been an all time low. Just abysmal day in and day out. The doughathon was the first time I've ever felt that people like me and my crew were seen and appreciated. I squeaked out a couple tears at the love y'all showed, and felt a deep connection to the drive thru hero at the Quincy McDonald's. Hey Doughboys squad! Has there been a time in your life that a restaurant was ruined by finding out a controversial story or a bad practice on their end? For me, my favorite ice cream stand in my hometown was a place I went to probably twice a week. And it wasn’t until recently, having moved away from college and being back in town this year, that I’ve visited again and was reminded of the fact that the staff of the stand is made up entirely of high school aged girls who are dubbed by the owner and public as “the hot fudge hotties.” Now, as bad as this sounds, as someone who is 22, I haven’t lived with this fact much of my adult life, and in high school, this was a normal common fact, but now, I cannot stomach the idea of going to a place where a boss handpicks high school girls to work at his stand and flaunts them as well...objects. For Nick-Given that you aren't eating meat this year do you find yourself eating vegan meat substitutes? I find that the vegan red meat subs are have so many things added into them that they often make me feel sick. On the other hand vegan chicken substitutes like Morning star chkn patties really don't cause any issues. Or are you sticking to fresh produce items along with beans/legumes? Hey D-Boyz! I grew up in the Midwest/Illinois and now live in San Francisco, my absolute favorite genre of meat dish is BBQ: charcoal, smoker, propane and Korean bbq style; all the types of fire seared flesh (and San Francisco sucks for authentic southern BBQ, the Korean bbq is legit but minimal). Being that BBQ is loved worldwide with an unrelenting cult followings. Why haven’t more fast food and sit-down chains capitalized on this very under represented style of cooking? The intersection between morality and food comes up again and again on the podcast: from food and its environmental impact, to wage and worker issues at restaurants to problematic celebrity chefs. Here in LA it seems I can't go a week without finding out about some new hip spot that has great food but is run by a terrible person or just so happens to be gentrifying the neighborhood it opened in. Obviously each person has to decide where to draw the line, but are there times where you've regretted eating somewhere or skipped it altogether upon learning some unsavory info, or the opposite, something you commit to eating due to some moral stance?

Do you all have a recurring champagne/first world food problem? One that isn’t a big deal but still annoying? As a caffeine sensitive diabetic, it is a miracle anytime I go to a restaurant and they have anything to drink that isn’t caffeinated or sweetened that isn’t water. I recently experienced being too sugared out and was wondering if any of you had to much sugar where your mouth didn't taste things correctly. where I ate a banana, had two running Gu's during a long run, ate an orange with a Gatorade after the run, then had some caramel corn with lunch. A little after lunch I had a Maibock beer, and it tasted like I was drinking sugar water, but my wife took a sip and told me it tasted normal to her. I powered through and had an IPA after that and it still tasted sweet. Has anything weird like that happened to you?

What is the best fast food deal you have encountered? Back in the mid 90s there was a Subway I would go to in NYC that had 2 foot longs for $8. 12 years before the $5 foot long promotion. Also in the early 90s at a McDonalds in Florida I went to, there use to be 29 Cent Hamburger Tuesdays and 39 Cent Cheeseburger Wednesdays.

My wife was very excited to have 3D Doritos again after their relaunch. I remarked that I don't remember them being that great, since they were basically just enclosed Bugles with Dorito flavoring, which is fine but not exactly reinventing the chip. We did have some recently, and she was disappointed because I was exactly right, and now she's having a Mandela Effect crisis, trying to figure out what she remembers as 3D Doritos, actually are.
