Hi Julianne! I make sure itβs propped up against the board (or a canvas) in a sturdy position on the easel, and then I tape it on the bottom and on the side with some artist tape so that it doesnβt move.

2024-04-18 20:55:23 +0000 UTCHi JP, thank you for joining! For simplicity, I use the same color palette every time. I like to premix a few main tones for the skin before painting and I mix them from the following colors: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue. You can use yellow ochre but I personally find it simpler to mix any skin tone using this limited palette. For brown tones generally Iβd use burnt umber with a little bit of cad orange, a tiny amount of ultramarine blue and some titanium white, but of course it depends on the tone, the lighting, etc.. I had a quick question though, what variations would you consider making if you are painting a brown personβs skin tone? Would you use yellow ochre as opposed to cad yellow?
