In this post I talk about my drawing supplies and everything you need for portrait sketches such as this one.
I’ll start by mentioning an A5 stone paper sketchbook (1), I already talked about it before and it currently still is my main sketchbook. However if you’d like to choose something else, Moleskine would be a great choice! You can also look at some Fabriano sketchbooks (they are good in my opinion), as well as Canson.
I have several graphite penc...

I’ve been staying in South Korea for more than 3 weeks.
This trip affected me like no other. I am really grateful for the experience even though there were some ups and downs. I plan to make a whole video about it and share what I’ve learned personally, artistically and otherwise. But for now - here are some Korea-inspired oil sketches! ♡

In today’s video I’ll walk you through the process of painting a little eye sketch.
Also, I’d like to share some news!
I’m possibly hosting another painting retreat because I would love for us to meet each other, explore some wonderful destinations and have some painting sessions in person.
It’ll be perfect for all levels since I’ll be giving everyone individual attention. Just like the last time, there’ll be painting classes every day and the remaining time we...

Generally before I begin a painting session, I like to read some reminders (you can see a short version of it all in the picture)
I want to go over a few of those things today and hopefully get you in the mood for painting this weekend!
○ I always liked figurative art and styles where you can see more brushwork and movement. But it took me years to become more “loose” in my approach. I realized that to achieve it you can’t skimp on paint; you have to use enough of it...

I cannot even comprehend how such brutal oppression and extreme violations of human rights can be happening in my home country.

This is what I’ve been working on lately.
I figured that I like to paint jewelry. It usually has a nice contrast between the lights and the darks and I think it really gives a portrait more of a unique look.
