I've Been Reincarnated As A Summoned Beast: Chapter 5

Zero

The next morning, Euphy took me to the training grounds where most of the guild members trained. This was also where I embarrassed Euphy's father with how weak the strongest guild masters pets were in our battle.

I’m not sure if I’m just stupidly strong or this world is just far under the level of my previous one. If that man’s claim of being the strongest is legit, the people of this world are doomed with what’s out there.

Euphy had told me about powerful men and beasts who come through rips in space from time to time and attack cities. They kill everyone in sight and strip the area of all resources. They never stay for to long, as the rip always seems to close after a few hours.

It’s very hard for the forces of this world to stop these incursions because of how fast they happen and also because when they do make contact, they get massacred. That’s why long ago they stumbled upon a path of summoning beasts for those who were unable to protect themselves and everyone around them.

The human race over the years has been in a constant state of decline because of their inability to stop these invaders. I personally don’t care too much, but it would probably hurt Euphy to have her race eradicated, so I might as well lend them a hand.

We walked up to a group of men and women who were conversing as their summoned beast stood around them. There were all types of different species, but one in particular caught my attention.

There was a female fox among them with only one tail. It’s too bad for her to have never evolved from her weakling state. On the other hand, why do I find her kind of appealing? Have I turned that far into a beast where I would be attracted to one from my own kind even though I used to be a human? There’s no way; it must just be instinctual because she is of my kind.

While she is very cute with her sakura-colored fur and those cute emerald eyes, as her gaze fell upon me, what the hell did I just think? There’s just no way! I have Euphy now; I don’t need her. But she really is a cute fox. SHUT UP!

While Euphy started interacting with the other humans present, I completely blocked them out as I stayed snuggled in her arms. My gaze looked straight at the fox as she also studied me at a distance. Why in the world am I so drawn to her? This shouldn’t be happening. Is it just my fixation on foxes from my past life or something more?

Without noticing, Euphy was watching me intently as I looked at the fox; she decided to let me down right in front of her.

“There you go, Zero, go play with her.” She gave a slight smile, but I also sensed a bit of worry in her tone.

‘Who said I wanted to play?’ I snorted violently to get my point across.

At my words the little pink fox ran in my direction and started sniffing me as she made a full circle around my body. Finally coming to a complete stop at my seven tails, I’m sure it’s something she’s never seen before. Her paws started swinging at them as if she was playing a game with my tails that naturally waved around.

Having so many tails, it’s virtually impossible to keep them all still unless I'm really enraged by something. Most of them have a habit of constant motion unless I’m at a complete stop or sleeping. Her play continued until she walked up to me while rubbing her body against mine as she moved, coming to a complete stop and lying down right at my front feet.

Looking down at her with those sparkling eyes looking up at me as if pleading for something, but I can’t give her what she wants. While I plan on becoming a human in the future, how in the world would this normal-looking fox also become one?

Something was off about her; when she settled down right in front of me, I could see tiny lacerations in her skin. It looks like her owner possibly abuses her, or maybe it was from another beast? Could she possibly understand how strong I am and be trying to find a safe haven?

It didn’t take long before my conclusion became a reality with the person in question walking right into my hands. I felt her start to shake lightly as we heard his voice as she shrank into my side even further. My senses were very well developed, with my seven tails making it very easy to understand everything she was thinking.

“Hey you stupid fox, get your ass over here.” A lanky man with blue hair and eyes that looked down on the world yelled out to us. One of those types of gangster-type mini villains you would find in stories that had no relevance.

Before I could do anything, Euphy jumps into the middle of us before there could be a confrontation. “Hello Todd, you should treat your summons with more respect, or they might not protect you when it’s most needed. They’re not just our protectors but also are companions for life.”

“What bullshit are you spewing?” He grabbed the back of his head and slightly tilted his head up with a manic look on his face. “You think because you’re the daughter of the guild leader you can boss me around?”

“Who said I’m trying to boss you around? I was just giving some helpful advice.” Euphy said with a solemn expression while crossing her arms.

“PFFT, HAHAHA, someone with a useless fox summons is trying to tell me what to do. He’s just as small as mine and probably has just as much power. If I could, I would kill her off so I could summon another. But this world won’t allow it, so I allow her to live by the kindness of my heart."

‘Euphy, he for sure beats her with all these wounds along her body. I can also feel the fear she has for that man; there’s no doubt he’s treating her poorly. Tell him, ‘If he doesn’t walk away, I will bite off his dick.’

At my words, Euphy looked at me with a surprised face. “Bit off his dick?” She exclaimed.

‘What? I’m not going to swallow it or anything.’ I said hurriedly.

“That’s not what I’m worried about.” She sighed, looking towards Todd.

“Did you just say your fox will bite my dick off?” His expression got even crueler as two summons came out of nowhere, flanking him on both sides.

One was a bug-like humanoid with large pincers for hands, and the other was a grizzly bear; both were exuding predatory expressions, ready to reap lives.

“You don’t want to do this.” Euphy said cautiously as she backed up slowly.

This fool tries to wave his dick around at the worst possible time. I wonder what would happen if I killed these three right here, would her father say anything to me, or would he look the other way because this guy's trash? How in the world was someone like him even accepted?

‘Euphy can I kill them?’ I gazed up at her, who was now right behind me. As soon as something threatening started approaching, I jumped up in a defensive stance to protect her.

“Kill them?” Her heart was obviously uneasy at the thought, with how her face scrunched up at the question.

‘That guy’s a bastard and will force my hand very soon; I can feel it. I have a keen sense for these kinds of things.’

At the same time, I was in the protective stance in front of Euphy; the pink fox followed my actions, trying to stay as close as possible. I sighed inwardly at her actions; with one slight push, she fell back.

‘Euphy… take care of her.’ She nodded slowly in a state of panic at the current situation. It seemed as if she was choked up with words that wouldn’t come out at my question earlier. She probably understood it’s a needed response but was unwilling to commit to it. ‘Just leave this situation to me, as I’ve lived my whole life dealing with these types of things.’

The aura I felt from both beasts was at a two or three tail if I were to estimate their current power level with my own. The bear exuded strength as if it would rip everything apart, and the mantis-looking bug-like creature had a more cunning feel to it. In terms of party roles, the bear was a tank, and the mantis was an assassin type.

Increasing my size to that of a compact car, I lunged at the man named Todd, wrapping him up in my tails and bolting out of the training area. This was no time to show off my abilities when we still have a few months before the scheduled tournament between summoned beasts.

After running a great distance away from the Oversight guild, I stopped in a large field with minimal humans present within my scanning range. About twenty seconds later, two beasts, whom I had hoped would follow, showed up growling at me with fervor.

“Now you’re fucked, you stupid beast; kill this fox!” The idiotic man roared, still being held within my tails.

The bear was about four meters tall if it stood on its hind legs. The mantis was also of a considerable height at three meters, with claws both reaching more than a meter long. Their bloodthirsty atmospheres only got a smirk out of me, though, as I nonchalantly threw their summoner against a tree with a loud snapping sound infiltrating my ear as he connected.

I’m not sure if that was him breaking or the tree, not that it even mattered. My way of living in my past world was survival of the fittest, and whenever I was challenged, I would kill them without mercy.

“ROAR!!!” The bear lunged in my direction as I saw the mantis disappear, quickly moving horizontally until he was in a perfect position to flank me.

My blue icy death leaked out of my body as both the bear in front of me and the mantis on my side had a thin layer of absolute zero threatening to consume them, attacking their bodies like a plague. The bug jumped back out of the danger zone, but the bear didn’t stop dropping both his claws down on top of me.

The instincts that I’ve been honing for over the past two decades kicked in, giving me an automatic response to the savagery of the bear’s attack. Leaning to one side then the other as his claws barely miss impacting my face and then my right side.

Its body was becoming even more sluggish as my ice kept spreading throughout his body, creating a heavier layer across his fur. Jumping back a few steps after dodging his furious onslaught, I watched as the bear slowed down to an almost complete stop.

Seeing the bear’s current immovability, I grew to my normal size, opening up my mouth that was now perfect for a snack. Imagine an alligator trying to consume a duck in the wild. That’s the scene currently taking place as I devoured him in one gulp to the delight of my growing hunger. On the other hand, I refuse to eat that mantis; it’s just disgusting.

I located him quickly as I summoned a massive ice blast in front of my face and sent it flying in his direction. The tree exploded that he was using as a barrier, causing his body to be fully impacted by my absolute zero, freezing him to death on the spot.

Walking up to him with my full size, I lifted my front paw, bringing it down to smash that disgusting bug into pieces.

“Zero!” I hear Euphy in the distance coming in my direction.

My gaze lands on the man who is currently unconscious after my throw that probably crippled him earlier. She’s too soft-hearted to see this scene, so let’s handle it before she gets here.

Using one of my tails, I yank him from his current pathetic position, throwing him up into the air with my mouth fully open. With a chomp I cut his body in half as I took one more bite into the air to catch the rest of the body.

That annoying bastard who dared to take out his anger on one of my kin and treat her poorly was now dead. He was completely eradicated as if his existence in this world was nothing more than an afterthought.

A weird sensation happened within me after the man named Todd's life was fully extinguished. I felt a strong connection towards that little pink fox as if I had just replaced her summoner.
