My Other Half - A story of Love and Revenge: Chapter 16

Haru

Akari and I stormed the estate a little before midnight. Getting inside was extremely easy, just going through an open window with our high agility. We initially wanted to take them out silently so as not to bring attention to our actions, but something caught our eyes. While making our way from room to room, we overheard a loud scream.

“Hmm… what was that?” I thought out loud.

“Let’s go check it out, Haru.” Akari grabbed onto me, and we went in search of the scream.

After a little time while trying to stay in the shadows, we came upon a rabbit girl being dragged on the ground by two men. The look on her face was alarming, as if she was void of emotions. She’s probably been through a hell of a lot in her life and is in need of some much-needed rescuing.

“Akari, did you see her eyes? They looked completely dead, as if she had given up on living a long time ago.” I said with a frown.

“With how damaged her body was, I could only imagine what she must have gone through. These people are so disgusting; not one person tried to help that girl. Most of them just looked on with a smile on their face.” Akari was ready to jump out and unleash retribution.

“I guess the saying from my old world works really well for this type of scenario. Birds of a feather flock together. I don’t want to kill any innocents, but it seems like all these people deserve death.” I give Akari a little nudge, “Go relieve your stress; I can tell you're barely holding it in. Just don’t burn down this place yet; we need to question that noble bastard first.” She gave me a nod with a wicked grin on her face.

With that, Akari launched herself from where we were hiding and started massacring everyone within the estate. She had pulled out her main daggers out of her subspace ring before going after her prey. I start walking in the direction where the two men took that bunny girl. Going back up the stairs, I looked down both sides of the hallway; I saw two men standing in front of a door with a maid.

I took out my short swords from the ring Akari had given me and prepared to launch my own attack. Putting my lightning into my swords, I started walking towards them. As they noticed my presence coming down the hallway with red lightning zapping constantly off my blades, they started backing away with terrified faces.

“Hey! Y-You stop right there or you will d-die.” One guard said with a shaky voice, unable to keep calm in this situation.

“This is the esteemed Count Verman Von Asteroth’s estate. If you don’t leave now, we will have no choice but to use force.” The other said with a solemn face.

I just gave them a knowing smile. Putting lightning into my feet, I charge at the two guards as I see the maid start to run away. Probably not the best idea to leave any survivors, at least until the black market situation is taken care of. As I reached the two guards, I plunged a sword into each of their stomachs and watched as their bodies exploded with lightning-charging pulses.

Then with one fluid motion I threw a sword at the escaping maid, impacting right through her back and sending her crashing violently into the wall. My blade perfectly stuck itself into the rock wall with the woman's midsection skewered all the way through.

After I retrieved my dagger, I went back to the door they were guarding. Akari had shown back up, giving me a cheerful smile. Having blown off some steam, I'm sure she feels a lot better right now.

“This is the room they were guarding, so I assume the bunny girl must be in there.” I suggested to Akari.

“Alright, let’s go!” She moved to the door and gave it a powerful kick. She really has no tact at all, I thought to myself with a laugh.

Looking at everything in the room, the rabbit girl was currently naked on the bed with a fat man now slammed into a wall from the door kick. The girl had a very small sliver of light in her eyes as she saw us. I wonder what she’s currently thinking, I pondered. To make sure she doesn’t fear us, I took off my hood to show her we were allies. Akari followed my action, understanding my intentions.

“Don’t worry, we have come to help.” I said to the girl with a smile to hopefully reassure her, “Akari, do you have any clothes for the girl?” I suggested to Akari because it was distracting having her naked.

“Sure, Haru, and don’t you dare look at her anymore!” She said with a glare.

“I get it, Akari; I will go deal with the guy,” I said with a sigh. Honestly, I didn’t feel much looking at her naked body because of the current condition it was in. She had so many scares and bruises all over. Her skin looked dark blue and black in a lot of places. Poor girl was the only thing I thought of when I saw her on the bed.

Turning my attention to the bastard noble rapist on the floor, I started having many wicked thoughts of what I should do with him. But first and foremost, find out anything I can about the city and what kind of power defends it. Then get him to spill where the black market takes place. I walk up to the man, who had the fear of God in his eyes as he looked at me in terror. Realizing now, we were Beastkin and weren’t going to allow him to survive our encounter.

I grab him by the neck and lift him up. “Tell me everything you know about the city's military strength.” He just looked at me blankly without saying a word, so I threw him back into the wall he was just slammed into. “I’m not here to mess around with you. Make your decision: die peacefully by cooperating with me or die painfully, forcing us to work to make you talk.”

“Do you understand what you’re doing?” The noble said.

I kicked him in the face, “Don’t start some bullshit monologue with me. I don’t care who you are and what you have backing you. Just so you know, if you choose option two, Akari over there would love to spend some time with you.” I pointed over at Akari, and she waved, “She very much enjoys destroying people like you and probably wants to replace me in this interrogation.”

“Haru please let me make this piggy squeal.” She said it with a lot of enthusiasm.

I looked at Akari with her pleading eyes, and I felt helpless. It was impossible to deny any of her requests. I walked over to her, planting a kiss on her lips, “Go have fun.” I smacked her on the ass, encouraging her to go handle it. She looked back at me with a wink and turned back around, going over to the guy.

Sitting on the bed next to the rabbit girl, I looked over at her. “Are you ok?” I asked. She just gave me a nod. “Well, I’m sure you will enjoy what’s about to happen to that guy. Akari has an evil side when it’s someone she feels should suffer.”

“That bastard deserves whatever he gets.” The glint she had in her eyes was surprising as she watched Akari work.

“If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you had to suffer under him?” I asked curiously, “I’m sure she would allow you to take the finishing blow if you wanted it.”

“Ahhhhh… Please stop… I can’t handle this anymore… You’re going to cut off what…Please just let me die already.” We both looked at the man in agony as Akari tortured him for any information he could possibly give up. She was cutting off certain body parts that will remain nameless.

“I’ve had to serve under that disgusting pig for two years. He bought me from another bastard who had me for a year before that.” She sighed in vexation at her last three years of life.

“Alright, I will let Akari know you want the final blow; I’m sure it would be great for your mentality.” I said with pity at her circumstances, “What’s your name?”

“Oh my god, please stop… I’ve already told you what I know… Just let me die, you witch… Please don’t cut that.” Once again the chorus chimes in to interrupt our conversation.

“My name is Luna, and I have to say, I’m quite enjoying the show.” She gave a little chuckle at what she was watching.”

“I’m Haru, and that sexy vixen over there is Akari.” Looking over at the mangled mess of a man, I said to Akari, “She would like to take out some frustration on the one who tormented her.” I suggested.

“That’s no problem, Haru; I’ve already got all the information we need.” She runs over and sits on my lap. She leans over towards Luna and gives her a dagger. “Go do what you need to.” She gave a smile at the rabbit girl.

“Thank you very much.” She bowed with her thanks and walked towards the man.

“By the way, Akari, her name is Luna, and she’s been in that guy’s care for two years. Talk about a rough life, poor girl.” I said as I wrapped my arms around her, who was leaning back onto me.

“Poor girl indeed; she will probably need a lot of time to get over this kind of trauma.”

“That’s for sure, but what she’s about to do will be a powerful first step towards recovery.” We both watch on as she starts stabbing the man right in the face.

“You fucking bastard, this is for everything you put me through,” Luna screamed as she repeatedly stabbed him in the face. It was about one hundred swings before she got too tired to stab anymore. The guy’s body was an absolute mess. Luna walked back over to us and let herself fall face-first onto the bed. She just lay there unmoving.

“Akari, could you roast that guy’s body? It’s pretty disgusting to look at, and I would prefer it disappeared.”

“Sure, Haru.” She got off my lap and walked over. Igniting her palm, Akari burned it until there was only ash remaining.

“Alright, let’s get out of here. Then, we can talk about the information you got out of that guy.” Akari grabbed me by the arm as we started walking out of the room. I turned back and looked at Luna. “We’re leaving, Luna, so if you want to come with us, you better get up now.”

We both smiled at Luna as she instantly jumped up and ran behind us as we continued out of the room. She carefully moved out the door as she mostly looked down as she followed close behind us.

This has to be the best day of my life. I was able to kill the man who has made my life a living hell. As we left the estate, I saw everyone who ever looked down on me was now in a pool of their own blood. The fact this actually happened, and it’s what I had always hoped for, was quite the stroke of luck.

I paid attention to Akari and Haru as we left, and they seemed like a bonded couple. They’ve probably already gone through with their imprinting as well. The thought of being with a man disgusts me now. Having to deal with constant sexual abuse for all those years, I just don't know if I can love someone of the opposite sex after that.

I’m just happy they got me out of this horrible life, and now I actually have a future to look forward to. When we got to the front door of the estate, they both stopped, and Akari got three cloaks out of thin air. I looked at that in awe.

“Here, Luna, we have to wear this for now. So none of those humans will notice what we are.” Akari sighed while giving me a cloak.

About twenty-five minutes later, we entered a room we had rented for the night. They took one of the two beds in the room, and I got the other. As I lie down and look up at the ceiling, I start dreaming about what tomorrow could bring. At the same time, I hear Akari and Haru making out under the covers, completely ignoring the fact that I'm literally in the bed right next to them.

I guess with having to travel with them from now on, I’m going to have to get used to this. I sighed internally while turning in the opposite direction; I closed my eyes, trying to get some sleep. After a while, the noise was too much, so I covered my head with both pillows.
