BSC After Dark 22: It's a Secret to Everyone.

Presenting the October 2023 installment of Born in the Second Century After Dark, an exploration of the Secret Gospel of Mark, and the arguments for and against its authenticity.

Note: The host reads Clement's Letter to Theodore in its entirety in this Episode. There are no chapter divisions available on the Patreon platform, so for reference, the timestamps for the reading are 8:57 to 14:20.

The host discusses topics of interest including: Bart Ehrman employing an argument from silence; the discovery of Secret Mark; the real reason why Morton Smith is often tagged as the forger; the Mystery at Mar Saba novel; the importance of Morton Salt in history; how Christianity got to Egypt; and the prominence and centrality of Mark's Gospel in this manuscript, which is incongruous for that era. In addition, Bart Ehrman employs an argument from silence.

This episode is in MP3 format.

Yeah, I looked it up (I was never a huge WCW fan but learned about Mould's involvement through the Lapsed Fan show - even though they didn't know him from Husker Du at all) - and it seems that he was there from Sep 1999 to whenever Bischoff and Russo came back together for the reset, which I think was April 2000.

That's news to me. I was born in Minneapolis and was a fan, but didn't know Mould personally. That must have been when Russo came back from Vince and started putting himself over on camera etc. Their booking got pretty stale so I guess they tried anybody.

Thanks, lol. Seeing the names Bob Mould and Austin in such close proximity, it reminded me that Bob Mould apparently did some writing for pro wrestling as well. I'm not sure of the details but I think it was WCW in the Bill Busch years?

Any podcast that mentions Bob Mould, Bob Price, Austin 3:16, and Eusebius is a must listen. (Breaking glass sound effect).
