Notice: A Sims 4 Mystery Patch Rumored for Release

TLDR: A pretty hefty Game Patch is rumored for February 25th, 2025 which might break a lot of mods!
There’s rumors swirling that tomorrow, February 25th, there is a patch releasing. This patch may be a pre-patch for the March 6th Game Business & Hobbies Expansion Pack, which would be unusual for Maxis. Typically, such a pre-patch is released the Tuesday or Thursday before the expansion pack. Still out of an abundance of caution, I’m warning you to please pause updates for the Sims 4 until the dust settles after tomorrow’s patch. If it releases, your favorite Modders will be working to pick apart the many changes the pre-patch and later the expansion will bring to the game. While it can be difficult to predict how long your favorite mods will be out of commission, it typically takes us (TURBO, Basemental, and me) few hours to about 2 days to release a patch depending on how many fundamental systems are altered... and this pack looks like it may bring many! I’ll be in discord while patching tomorrow for those who want a more up to the moment prediction for how the patch is going, but for those who don’t use discord, I’ll be silently updating this post here as the process progresses, to keep you informed with how the patch is coming.
Again, If you plan to play your modded sims 4 while we are working on the patch, then I highly recommend you disable updates. You can do this by opening the EA app, looking for the 3 horizontal bars in the upper left corner -> Settings -> hit the download tab just below settings (It’s not immediately obvious it’s a tab) then click off update games automatically, I’d probably disable ‘Enable Background Downloads’ just to be safe too. Then hit the 3 horizontal bars again and hit ‘go offline.’ This should prevent the sims 4 from auto-updating while your Mod Authors work on patches for you. If you want to be extra tinfoil, so shiny and chrome, you can disconnect your computer from the internet too, but that’s probably a bit cray cray, but we love things a bit crazy here don’t we?

Yes, way back in the forever time WW sex location picking was based on objects, and not rooms, which isn't at all how we intuitively search for sex locations. So, I built a lightweight autonomy system specifically for prostitution which would be based on rooms including an option for the WW style searching, and a fully manual mode. WW updated their logic to become room based, making my custom logic redundant so I ended up removing those options entirely. I know some people want the manual control back. I'm finishing up an update with a major change to how sexual boundaries work with prostitution, I'll take a look to see if I can easily add back in the manual control method. As the LE says, I don't think it's coming from WP, but I'm not really sure where it's coming from. It's saying that it can't update your sim's data on a relationship change because a relationship bit is missing for the given track. Are you using any mods with custom relationships, or which override base game relationships? If you are, you could try AB testing by temporarily removing said mod.

2025-04-02 15:41:15 +0000 UTCHi Nisa! I've been testing out the escorts part of the WW strip club, and every single day I get a LE for the nonetype on the base_game.py. I've deleted every simulation fix/unclogger, disabled culling, reinstalled basemental/WW/WP and made sure all are up to date, and deleted all cache and it's still happening? Any other ideas? I saw old news about this, but haven't seen anyone else have this issue recently :( Thank you!
