Hey everyone!
no talking version: https://youtu.be/-MYkAzksfis
I hope you have had a good week, I have been in Paris for a spontaneous trip with some of my family members. It was a lot more expensive than I was expecting but I got a few little treats because I thought, it’s Paris! I got some cool sunglasses, a new top and a beret! I will show you guys in my next whispery video :)
This was supposed to upload before I went but thanks to my AWFUL wifi, it failed three times. I’ve been having a lot of problems with it lately.
Finally I’m uploading it now!
The metro was really clean, the people were really kind and lovely, I honestly feel like Paris has got a bad rep, because I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about it, but honestly, I felt embarrassed for London in comparison. The food in London is ridiculously expensive, I used to never go out, or would try to eat at the cheapest possible restaurants, it’s absolutely filthy (especially those Euston toilets), I was just really surprised because Paris was lovely, the trains were on time. As soon as I got back to Euston, there were train delays, overcrowding, could go on and on… I think London is really nice if you have a LOT of money, but it was horrible to live there for me, I was terrified to go out by myself, my part time job paid me not nearly enough for food and travel, I stayed in most of the time and looking back, really regret not going out much ;’( but, hopefully I get some of those experiences in the future. Things are so expensive now in England it’s just unreal, to go bowling or to the cinema with my family, it costs over £80 each time so we just don’t go anymore, it used to be affordable. Is anyone else finding these prices crazy? Maybe it’s just me. My go-to these days is to just go out for coffee, and study or read a book, it feels enough like an activity to me haha. This turned into a little rant for London, it has an atmosphere to it which is something I love, it’s a unique city and I’ll always have a love/hate relationship for it, but Paris is definitely worth a visit. The architecture, WOW! I went to the Musee D’Orsay and saw a bunch of Claude Monet’s paintings in person which were spectacular, I seriously loved it. Food was a little expensive but really lovely and tasty, I wish I was there a bit longer. One thing I really love about France and Italy, is the social aspect. People sit and chat outside of restaurants watching the world go by, it is genuinely the most wonderful, great feeling. We don’t do this in England AT ALL. Everyone sticks to themselves. We met a wonderful waiter who spoke fantastic English, he told us about how he lived in England for 30 years, he worked with horses, it was really interesting to hear.
I’m so grateful I’ve been able to travel lately, I managed to go to Rome last year too! It is such a blessing, it makes me crave to see the rest of the world. It’s easy to forget that the world is bigger than where you live, it’s like my eyes open extra wide seeing all these new surroundings. <3
Let me know what you guys have been up to this week! :)
