What is the correct tense in this sentence: "the characters had fit on the background well"? If the characters didn't "do" something themselves, but this "something" happened in the past and hasn't changed at the moment?? What would be the correct word for it? HAD fit? HAS fit? Or just FIT ????? AAAA help "x((((
