***Mmm.. Also a little off topic and a stupid question about English, but I can't figure this sentence out. What is the correct tense in this sentence: "the characters had fit on the background well"? If the characters didn't "do" something themselves, but this "something" happened in the past and hasn't changed at the moment?? What would be the correct word for it? HAD fit? HAS fit? Or just FIT ????? AAAA help "x((((

2022-01-25 05:22:43 +0000 UTCI would say there are different ways to write the sentence depending on the meaning. Do you mean that you are relieved to see the characters go well with the background? If so, I would say "After all, the characters fit on the background well". "Fit" is acceptable for both present and past tense, no need for "had" Do you mean that you are proud of how you drew the characters to accommodate for the background? If so, I would say "After all, the characters had to fit on the background well". "Had to" implies a hidden "I had to make" which is past tense but with you as the subject instead of the characters. Overall, English is a terrible language and nothing follows any rules. I hate it xD

2022-01-24 20:59:26 +0000 UTCI think it's just "fit", but I'm unsure so I think I personally would've just written it as "After all, the characters ended up fitting well on the background" or something to try and dodge the conundrum. x3 Lovely art as always though. It looks very cozy with the warm lighting inside in contrast to the cold outdoors. Plus the snuggly pose of course. :3
