I've been meaning to check it out for awhile after Cooper and another friend recommended Moomin to me. Watching the episodes on the official youtube channel, which crops the picture from 4:3 to 16:9. Kind of annoying, but I'll survive somehow. Going in I expected a harmless kids show, and it is, more or less. But I figured that the plots would be episodic one offs as most cartoons were back in that era. Color me surprised when they were doing multipart episodes. I've only watched up to episode 5 so far, but 3-5 are all one arc about finding a boat and sailing off to an island. It's nice and chill, and I like the animation on it. The English dub is serviceable. I wanna say it was done in the UK? I could pretend I'm super educated on the matter and look up a wiki article real quick, but I like doing these blog posts off the cuff, so fuck that. Dub is fine. Could be better, but for a cartoon for young children, it's fine. I'll be mixing it in between episodes of Hayate the Combat Butler.
