Analysing skin tones over the weekend course in Australia lead to discussion on how marine faces are different from human. Even a new astartes is a creature reformed into a weapon - hardened, weathered, scarred. Then vets of any distinction should have multiple surgeries, reinforced skulls, servo eyes, iron teeth, etc.
And if we’re depicting them mid - battle we should see some of these injuries exposed, scarring, or even fresh cuts (something that I realise isn’t depicted enough).
