UNDERPAINTING: 90's 'Red Phase' Chaos Warrior

I sometimes forget painting is pleasurable! Always the next deadline, the next technique to try, the latest paint that will make it all come together. Damn I need that paint shaker.
This #hobbyhammer #oldworld challenge has been a breath of fresh air. Building units month by month reminds me of building an army with my pocket money.
It's also forced me to slow my process down. Mass-producing armies is an awesome skill, but so is spending 30 mins here and there developing leather boots or the reflections on a blade. It’s not all about optimising your time.
This chaos warrior was an exercise in many things. I wanted to use #underpainting on an army -wide scale. I wanted to paint it with the brush alone. - and I also wanted to mash together that classic 90’s red phase with a modern approach.
This is the result. It took me around 3 hours to paint it fully (still waiting for a restock of Gw bases to finish, finish.)
