Should Daeron expand Crownlands by absorbing the Riverlands?
Added 2021-10-03 08:38:14 +0000 UTCOne of the gripes that I have with House Targaryen is that they refused to expand Crownlands after Aegon I. Aegon I had the sense to know that he needed more land than just ruling over Dragonstone. He formed the Crownlands by taking land from the Riverlands, Stormlands and the Reach. However, his descendants never expanded the territory under Crown control. Only Daeron II had the sense to expand the Crown controlled lands by building Summerhall in the Dornish Marches.
Under the present condition, Daeron most likely will have the political will to expand the demesne of the Crown. This would mean the expansion of the Iron Throne's military power as the number of lords directly sworn to the Iron Throne increases considerably. It also has to be noted, with Crownland expansion the taxes levied by the Crown will also increase.

Daeron should also do the same with the Stormlands by absorbing it into the Crownland and perhaps part of The Reach as well
