THIS IS NOT ALRIGHT!!!!
Added 2024-10-07 18:21:03 +0000 UTCI'll be brief and clear: Stealing is not okay.
I feel it's my duty, as one of the posemakers from this comunity to speak up and raise my voice.
I know that many of you have already heard about it, but if you haven't, I'll try to explain the situation:
A couple of days ago, my dears Simmireen and TheSerenadeOfShadows, along with a couple of other creators, have been collecting evidence of a serious matter: The (mis)named "posemaker" Simsulani, with more than 23k followers on her patreon account, has been stealing the work of other creators (around 14 and keep growing) and publishing it under her name even with paid early access for God knows how long.
As you know, I'm not against early access (Tho infinite paywalling is NOT in my liking), I use it myself and it has helped me a lot in my day to day life, specially these last few months with my keyboard and mouse sudenly dying and 3 of my 4 kittens getting sick which means a lot of money on vets and medicines... But stealing other's works and putting it into a financial state without even a little bit of effort, is NOT GOOD!! IT's terrible!! It's attrocious!! It's unforgivable!!
Posemaking is a hard work, with a lot of time being consumed working, learning and perfectioning and a lot of burn outs. Seeing this happening is a shame. Seeing some creators such as Toys of Dukeness leaving because some smart douchebags can't do their own work and steal the hard work of others makes me sick.
I am a person who does not tolerate evil, who does not tolerate injustice and who does not tolerate lies, and as someone who spends so much time creating and perfecting their own poses to share, it fills me with anger that things like this happen in the community.
I know first hand the time and effort one uses to be a posemaker. I, personally, as someone extremely perfectionist, can spend DAYS creating a single pack of poses. Unfortunately it is a time that no one but myself (and those around me in my real life) can see, because you see a finished product and you can use it completely in less than 15 minutes. So I'm hurt and upset by this situation that some of my colleagues have going through now.
Yesterday I spent a good part of my time (something that never needed to happen) going through each of this person's pose packs looking for any matches with my own poses. Fortunately (And I'll say it hesitant) I haven't found any of my poses being used (Tho there has been a couple of poses pretty similar to mines, but not that similar to say they are mine), perhaps because my niche doesn't have the target she looks for, as I have very few family, friendly and couple poses... But as Irene (Simmireen) and the few posemakers that have speak say in their posts, she is very clever and the small adjustments she makes to the poses make them look like a new creation when they're not, so I don't rule out that I've missed some that could be my creations (after all, she did steal from my patreon, although it wasn't a pose of mine, but of a colleague in a collaboration package). More than 400 poses is a lot to go through.
But while I was going through, beyond seeing the demonization (exaggeration) of poorly made expressions and bones (especially limbs) broken and placed senselessly and without caution, I did recognize a few creations from other posemakers that I usually use.
The evidence is there.
From personal experience I can say that even when you make the same pose twice from scratch, the movement points will NEVER be exactly in the same position (less likely if the pose is made by TWO different people so...), there will always be at least 1 mm difference unless you have copied and paste a previous pose and modified on top of it and THAT's what you can see on the images the girls have provided as evidence (I'm linking the document at the end of this post). Also, each creator has recognizable quirks… in my case I can say that the expressions and the way I move my arms and position my fingers can be easily recognized and this is the case with the poses shown in the document.
Furthermore, I will say very firmly (despite sounding like someone who is self-centered) that no one in their right mind who has done so many poses would have the blunders that I was able to visualize and analyze while reviewing their poses. Twisted elbows, twisted knees, slumped shoulders, "broken" arms and legs in abnormal positions, joker smirks, broken fingers, overlapping parts and limbs going through wrong places... with practice, these little details become perfected... something that simsulani clearly has not experienced and which is quite strange with over 400 published posepacks. isn't that weird??
So, to make it clear, what I'm asking here is: PLEASE, stop using/downloading simsulani poses... there's a buuunch of amazing and talented posemakers who make family/couple poses with a lot of work and effort... A thief is not worth to pay money... a thief is not worth to be seeing as a good and talented creator.... a thief does not deserve to be taken into account for anything... AND if you are a posemaker don't do the same she has done...
This is an unfortunated and unpleasant situation, evidences talk by themself... and you can take a look into everything right here!
PS: I'm not an English speaker, so my vocabulary is limited to express... I apologize if I made any mistakes in my writing but I have tried my best to express myself about the situation...
Thank you for reading...
Dag, dag!!

2024-10-07 18:54:20 +0000 UTCTHANK YOU for speaking on this! As someone who had so much stolen from me (not pose creating but other things) this isn’t spoken up about enough. People aren’t held accountable - so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
