Update 03/17 - BROTRIP EP3 Progress....

AY

Update time.
As prophecized, the move has occured.
I am right now sitting in my childhood home as the MASTER of the house, content and at peace. We've focused mostly on the move and the house the past month, got most of the furniture in, started settling in nicely, I've even started cutting wood for the fireplace.
Truly blessed......

However, this does of course not mean I've neglected work.
Spending time working has been hard though admittedly, but I have as of recently almost finished the audio for EP3 of BROTRIP, and my fellow editor VindicareAssassin has begun the animating process.
Now that the move is closing in on done, just need to get some boxes unpacked and my miniature display case moved, I can start focusing more on work. So this is good.

NOW, a question for YOU...
In case you did not see it, just last post I uploaded a patreon exclusive video wherein Wamuudes goes over each Primarch and his thoughts about them.
It was very easy to write and record, the editing was extremely simplistic, and all this was by design so as to create a new brand of "filler content". I'd love to make more, I already have a neat idea for the next one.
But my thought with this content was that it could perhaps  incentivize  you, my patrons, to stay around, getting something special just for you now and again and being assured that I am working.

However, several of you objected to it being Patreon exclusive, that it could be seen as paywalling content. And that got me thinking that, perhaps, making it exclusive isn't... that neccesary? Maybe?

What do you think?
Does it add anything to it knowing that it's patreon exclusive?
Should I just straight up make this Public? Would you mind?
Do you think people would enjoy it outside the patron circle?

Blease, I yearn for you advice....

Yeah, that's it.
By the next update, BROTRIP EP3 should uh...   probably not be done but at least have had a significant portion of it animated.
Until next time,
Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the Wamuudes video. I don't care if that stuff stays exclusive, or it's never exclusive in the first place, you have my dollar either way, wish it could be more.

I don't mind either way, but i saw that someone else suggested having them as timed exclusives, which i think would be a good solution for everyone. You're my #1 patreon creator, so i know i won't stop pledging to you any time soon, but if it gets you more money for your work (which you absolutely deserve) i'm 100% behind having them exclusive.

Publish the work a week early on patreon then release it on to YouTube afterwards, keep patreons happy and non-patreons happy and gives your work more publicity so its not just stuck on Patreon.

this exactly. Timed exclusive is a good solution. We get the content a bit quicker, Alfabusa gets the support, but everybody gets to enjoy it in the end.

I vote for it being published. I'm here for the content that I can discuss with my friends and community, i.e. the "canonical" one (in some sense). "Timed exclusive" would work well I think, if you think we, patreons, deserve some additional attention. For me personally, exclusivity makes no role; I just love your work being expanded, and I have NO desire to hide it from the wider audience. Your work deserves to be watched by the public, no matter how insignificant you think it is; it was good enough I think. If you can do more (a little bit) of such audio logs — then you should.

Land Raider

Dude, you making the videos, all these things, are what I support you for. I don't care about exclusivity. I just care about you doing what you do best. Making content that puts a smile on my face even when I am down. Keep up the awesome work mate.

Taylor Tilbury

don't make it exclusive. Making fast videos would help you grow even more.

Da White Devil

a little bit of exclusive stuff is nice, feels good to be rewarded for contributing

People expect perks from patreon, the allure of 'exclusive content'. I don't think anyone could seriously deny you making the odd content here.

GUYFUN

Looking forward to BroTrip, and I absolutely love the Wamuudes fave Primarchs thing. I would enjoy similar excepts to the Wamuudes fave Primarchs on a Weekly or Biweekly Reward, a doggy treat for all the loyal supporters.

DarkInnovator

Personally I don;t mind but having no patron exclusive content would cost you donations (unfortunately). Perhaps do what an earlier comment suggested and have early access for patrons before releasing for everyone.

I think that you should make it public and people would love to hear the personal rankings of Wamuudes. We patreons wouldn't mind I think. That is all. I hope you have good luck with everything and that your work is done quick and efficient.

ArgoWoop!

I did not set up a Patreon account for gibs. I set up a Patreon account to encourage you to create more content. Eliminate all Patreon-exclusive rewards, simplify your interaction with the public, reduce the time spent on "I'm working" updates and concentrate on producing more content in a more efficient fashion. This will drive more attention and ultimately more donations, whereas reducing the series to an exclusive club of individuals with disposable incomes will do the opposite.

Cotonou

The emperors holy work must spread!

Profe MacKnight

I'd say a timed exclusive, like the other boys are saying. Gives impatient people an incentive without a true paywall.

GamerJuice69420

I agree, I think having timed exclusives let's us have a little something but doesn't pay wall content, everyone wins.

Delta

1 or 2 weeks exclusive. Also I need to see some more ghost ferris or real Ferris.

Woo! Looking forward to Brotrip! Although not that ghastly toothpaste green being everywhere, lol. I loved Waamudes' commentary filler piece, and would like to hear more. I don't think keeping it Patreon exclusive is necessary.... maybe make a public post of it after a time.

Trevor Bond

This, absolutely. I'm fine with an early bird. I love your content and the thought that people can't access something of it is a little gloomy to think about lol.

Trevor Bond

Make it exclusive for like a week or two then release it to the public. It throws us an inconsequential bone to chew on as a reward for supporting you. And then the masses get to gnaw on that same bone later once we've had our fill.

J. LeClair

I would do a two more and see how they take I think it has potential

I say do timed exclusivity. No longer than a month but more like a week or 2.

Elderlucian

Timed exclusive seems like the best idea, one week delay seems to be the consensus

Amari Fukui

I think a month early for patreon supporters is the best route myself.

Just make it a timed exclusive like a week or so. Can’t really go wrong with that 🤷

Conor Gordon

I'd say timed exclusive for a week or so, then released on your channel. The extra vids might also help the channel on YT as it gets more content. Which I find much more valuable than patreon exclusive content. After all we are supporting you and by extension your channel with our money.

Delaying it a week or so then have it public would probably push people on the fence about supporting the patreon to throw a dollar that way (love the more easier to make vids super keen on more).

I mean, your patreon access is barely 1$ a month so it's not THAT much of a paywall if you ask me. It's literally a bag of Lay's a month.

Matihood

I would like everything to be public

I would love it made public. It would incentivize even more new patrons if it was a 1-2 week early release. The TTS base is constantly yearning for new content but they don't mind the wait if it means more content overall.

I wouldn't mind it being made public. I just want you to make such a "my top 20 Primarchs" for all the Fabstodes.

First, I want that suit of flight armor. Second, I’d say snacky fluff bits being Patreon exclusive a few weeks isn’t a bad idea.

Jack Ponder

Tiny filler content burps sound awesome. Especially if it's easy to make and doesn't distract from core projects very much. Fully endorse! Also, not super keen on patreon exclusives. I think sneak peeks are nice, but I wouldn't keep your wonderful content behind a paywall.

Pixel Appreciator

I'll stay a paying customer but you could do an early access model for the filler content. I feel that would be the most fair thing to do.

LoreNut_Nor

Also more aussie Tzeentch demons. Just cos.

Pauly48

Patreon first. Youtube a week or two after. Also would love to hear someone take the piss out of the old Space Ork tribes: Goffs, Blood Axes, Bad Moons etc. I miss those guys.

Pauly48

I'd be happy to see it shared, like most people I signed up to support you and the series, not to get exclusive content

Personally, I'm with the above idea of early access for Patreon with a later general release. I'm here as a supporter because I love the series, not because I expect special content

Hell, one of the patreon only things could also be instructions to non-standard paint schemes used for some of the models, maybe behind the scenes outtakes and rejected scripts

I know i singed on to your patreon when episode 26 was in production and i wanted to see the first half early i dont mind stuff being released for every one but at the same time exclusives are nice maybe you could go the route other patreons do and release stuff a few days or week early on it before making it available to every one patrons gets something back and nothing is fully pay walled

Saintocean

Metroid, Starcraft, Halo, Toy Story... what else am I missing? Also, I'd be partial to making it a timed release if people are complaining. Allows Patrons to sink their teeth into it first.

Mah_Buddy_Keith

The only reason I registered on Patreon is because of "donate if you want TtS episodes to be released more often" message. I don't care if it's public, private, postponed, previewed, in HD or downloadable, I just want my TtS episodes. I don't really care for fillers either, you got my full attention at around the Cegorah episode and I see everying else as a nuisance since then. I've downgraded my donation when I realized I'm paying for podcasts instead of more frequent TtS episodes, so there's that. You're doing great work though and whatever makes you feel comfortable keeping it up is fine by me. I don't feel like I should get more than people that get content for free on youtube, I don't even think in that direction, I'm donating to keep up my favourite series, not to get some advantage over others.

Evgeny Chesnokov

That's not a bad suggestion. I'd love to see if anyone had any form of objection to this. But, it makes sense from an "incentive"-based standpoint, I suppose?

Alfabusa

I'd say put it on a delay. Patreon for a couple weeks, then public after. That way patreons get something nice but then so does everyone else on a regular-ish schedule.
