Quick Extra Update - Rendering times are the reason why the video isn't out yet

I feel obliged to write a quick extra update as a result of the video not being out yet.
The rendering times are quite the bomb this time around.
I've been doing my best to minimize the time the video has to spend rendering without hampering the quality, but it will unfortunately still be a while before I can release it due to the immense time the video will take to finish rendering.
The estimated 31 hours you see up above in the picture?
That's for just a few minutes of footage, while the video in its entirety is just over 50 minutes long.
So, yeah, rendering purgatory has been fully engaged.
I SWEAR, this time, it'll be the last ridiculously long video I am making in at least, like, two years, or something.
I am not allowing us to have this much fun with a script anymore. It is illegal.

The images themselves are often high resolution and are all pre-comps lost in a sea of other pre-comps. In addition, we have a whole slew of effects, everything from colour correction to the puppet tool to particle effects... It's a whole thing. I already got two computers I got put together specifically to be effective editing machines and yet it isn't quite enough to make rendering a project like this a speedy process.

I think we need to pool some money and get you a nice workstation. I've got some old 1050s I could donate. Gently used.

2019-09-28 14:12:28 +0000 UTCThey do not! The computers run just fine even while rendering, able to handle lesser tasks simultaneously like allowing me to edit subtitles, which is a boon. I'm not great with hardware knowledge, but I know my newest computer got 20 different CPUs running, with AE using about 8 of them if I remember correctly, the RAM allocated between them for multiprocessing.
