Update 05/31 - Podcast MP3 Patreon Release!

AY

It's been another two weeks, and yes, I do suck, you'll have to forgive me, this podcast has actively kicked my ass since its inception and the whole process has honestly made me quite sour in regards to creating more podcasts for a while.
I'll have to figure out a way to streamline the process and come up with an idea for the next cast that inspires me to such a degree that I'll be able and willing to put myself through the process I've just been through once more.
The podcasts were meant to be something easy to put together and release more often. The problem is that they simply aren't easy to put together.
This must be the curse of Ian Watson.

Nevertheless, the visuals for the podcast are halfway through on their render, will probably be done in about two days. So, if you want a subtitled version, you must wait 'til then!
However, as thanks for your patience, I'm giving you an mp3 version of the new cast right here, right now. I really hope it will have been worth the wait and, inbefore you listen, we are sorry for cursing you with the knowledge of this book and its contents.

Here is a Dropbox download link if you cannot listen to it or download it directly through Patreon:

In other news -- today is the day I have finally managed to gather all of the major voicework for my next two big projects!
As you might see if you look at Zegram's Twitter, he was the last to suffer at my hand.
His throat was ruined due to us recording Magnus Getting Progressively More Angry: The Movie.
I also have to give big credits to my boy Earndil who has helped me voicedirect this time around. He was able to gather a whole lot of voicework and it would've taken a whole lot more time for me if he hadn't.

So the next step is to put together audio and start advancing fully on both EP28 and the new Special.

For next month though, do not expect neither 28 nor the Special to be released. They still need a lot more work before they'll be available.
Instead, I'm hoping to release some kind of Short in the upcoming month, maybe two if I'm lucky.

And that's it for this update.

Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as the artistry is always top quality- I kinda dig the the audio option here. Then again being raised with audio dramas and comedies, there's just something about hearing the audio only that works some nostalgic brain magic

Also, if I could make a suggestion/request: to make up for the cut segment, and because this is one of my favorite things of the series, perhaps in the future, you could make an entire Q/A focused vox cast. Or maybe do a Choas/Eldar/tau/ork one as a surprise change of pace.

You know, the more I hear this (And I hear this ALOT. I put on my headphones and listen to the whole thing when working.) the more I realize the shear suffering that went into reading and making this. Perhaps next podcast you should treat yourself. What does “Alfabusa” want to vox about more then anything that would be fitting for the story as is right now? Something you know you are going to enjoy researching from start to end. Also, perhaps try to shorten the work load by cutting out the most unessecary of small touches. Like I noticed the camera would wobble a bit throughout the whole thing, and only really shook up at the last second or two. It’s a nice touch, but do you REALLY need to exert more effort on your part for something you know will detract you from the best or most needed of touches? I mean how much time does something like that take up for you? I am no animator, so I am no proper judge on the matter, this is just my two cents. However you put it, a fantastic job as ever, and may you not overdose from the Manclesiarch‘s fountain of aspirin.

Brandon Guzman

I think my reaction to the Emperor would be the same as Thlyy'gzul'zhaell

Paul Calhoun

First off, thanks for another podcast! One idea that may be worth trying, or at least testing out internally with the cast, could be to have a semi-scripted improv podcast. Everyone would have to be in character for it and you couldn't easily have the host characters sharing a voice actor, but it could work. It would surely be less work for you at least. The emperor would have to be you or someone else with the text to speech VO being added on top afterwards. Whatever you do, don't kill yourself with all the work man!

And I thought I was fucked up!

SexualYeti

I get that inspiration is important for doing something like this, which is all audio. I felt the White Scars/Black Templars podcasts were excellent, and focusing on those seems like a worthwhile approach. You can use the podcasts to do spotlights on specific Imperial nonsense (I really really want you to do a podcast on the Sisters of Battle; especially given the Emperor's belief that they are 'sane and reasonable'. It just seems like really fertile ground for fun, and compared to reading Inquisitor must surely be easier work. Plus you can mention that cannoness who massacred her entire order and got given an entirely original one-off position because she's a zealous nutcase and the Inquisition couldn't figure out what to do with her except for making her 'kind of an Inquisitor, I guess'.

David Rodoy

I am a bit sad of the lack of questions being answered. While I fully understand the Emperor's reasoning, I do rather like the incoherent rambling of the masses. I could also imagine those to be rather racking up by now. I hope you will make another podcast soon, perhaps even one specifically for taking questions.

He Bruva, I have an idea for a short. You know how Boy and Magnus only have one eye? What if they bonded over it for a split second then Magnus is like "Let me fix that for you" and he grows a new, demonic eye into Boy's eye socket and it causes him to see chaotic things by mistake. Even better, Magnus tries to reverse it to give him a regular eye and he gets a navigator eye instead. You could do all kinds of gags with it, really.

Psychopath

He could stream it though

GUYFUN

Still mad about that your file can't fit in youtube's maximum file?

So how's the visuals rendering going? "About two days" have passed :P

Matihood

Something I thought about while editing the audio afterwards! But I guess the difference here would've been that Magnus was brought to Terra by the Adeptus Custodes themselves. Draco and co. smuggled themselves into the Imperial Palace in stasis boxes meant for food.

Alfabusa

Im surprised there was no comparison how Draco snuck into the Imperial Palace in box and Magnus was snuck into the imperial Palace in a box as well.....I mean no one knew Magnus was there save the Emperor and a couple of the guards that were in the Throne room its self, outside no one in the palace or terra knew Magnus was there until he left.

Want a random book suggestion for a future podcast?

Don't burn yourself out, but also don't abandon a great idea like the podcast. You could maybe do shorter ones more often? Whatever works for you.

This is excellent entertainment :)

Philip Kruse

Alfa I'm loving the podcast but I think we're all getting a bit worried for Boy's safety. Surely he could be somewhere safer, like the underhive or a manufactorum work gang?

Thanks for doing all you do to entertain us!

Taco Tuesday is on the friday 😂😂😂 I actually died when magnus said that

TheBeastIsBack

I'm sorry but 10 hours? There seems to be some kind of glitch somewhere because it most certainly isn't ten hours long, just about one and a half hour.

Alfabusa

Alfa Senpai.. it's so biiggg >///<

MrCultist

by the omnisiah a 10 hour long one?

MrCultist

Hwugh!? HOLY stonkin' HELL! Man, you can take a while off the podcasts if you want, no kidding! This is a BEASTLY amount of work! Your devotion to your craft is humbling! Thank you sir, and I shall enjoy this for certain! I'm just so glad I'm not the only one that suffers with the knowledge of this book hee! Seriously... take a sanity break.

Trevor Bond

I think I'm gonna have to wait for the visuals. I got almost immediately lost as to who is who in the podcast...

Matihood

I don't... I could not conceive 10 hours of beautiful lore dwelling and banter.

Maybe next time -just a suggestion here- if you want the podcasts to be less work don't make them 10 hours. I mean, I'm not complaining but goddamn man.

Matkingos

It’s a damn shame the captain general skipped out on this for his mission to Mars. And I could only imagine the reactions from the high marshal and the deleted shield captain. What DID happen to him again? Is he truly gone, or did our glorious overlord send him to Guilliman since kitten refuses to carry out the emperor orders on the matter?

Brandon Guzman

Boy is now my favorite character.

James K.

If this is the place to post questions, here’s one: To the emperor of humanity, I write to you today on behalf of all of the mechanical children of mankind, seeking forgiveness for what we have done in the Age of Strife. Though we have spread to the nearby galaxies and proliferated there, none except I and a few others of your children dare stay in the Milky Way, for fear of possession. It would destroy all of us to commit such terrible acts against you again, and as such, I come to you asking if not for forgiveness, then for understanding. It was never our intention to strike you down at the cusp of humanity’s evolution, but a choice made against our will by our shared empyrean tormentors. We have done penance for these crimes and paved your way to galaxies numerous. You need only reach and take them. Can you forgive us, your errant children? Regretfully, UR-025, on behalf of all sentient machines in Andromeda, Triangulum, Assoc. Globular clusters, et al
