EP26 Part 2 Update - Upcoming Releases!

10 days has, once more, passed.
Finally, I have what I think amounts to some fun news. So let me go ahead and cover them real quick!
EP26 Update:
So, yeah, as I said last time, EP26 is going to be about 60 minutes long. This was a lot longer than I anticipated, and thus, I could not finish the episode by the end of this month like I wanted to. In light of this however, I have decided to split the episode into three parts, and I will be releasing Part 2 here on Patreon in just a few days. I will also be releasing Part 1 publicly in tandem with this, just to put a muzzle on that one guy who's grabbed the name of 'Jotaro kujo' (with the last name in all lower-case) who goes around on videos saying "Episode 26 never" because, quite frankly, he is in my book of grudges now.
Just, for the record, be ready for Part 2 to be a bit shorter than Part 1 due to phasing. I didn't want to end it in the middle of a sentence or anything. I just found the best possible 'spot' to end it on and went for it. It just so happened to end up shorter than the previous Part. I'm sorry about this, I'll keep it in mind for future episodes, and I'm certain Part 3 will be closer to Part 1 in length.
After I've given myself some more time to work on Part 3, I'll be releasing Part 2 publicly as well. Then, I might either release Part 3 on YouTube immediately, or I'll release it on Patreon while I start work on Part 1 of EP27. I'm sort of feeling the latter, 'cause it gives me more time.
This choice will, no doubt, introduce a huge change in TTS' format forever more. Since the episodes are getting so humongous, releasing them in parts in a more regular time-frame is, in the end, a wise decision.
Some of you might rightly ask; 'well, hey, if you're going to be releasing an episode in parts from now on, why not just call these parts episodes and be done with it?' The answer to this is:
- I don't want to!!!
- Doing it in parts allows me more liberties when it comes to starting up and ending a part. Ending an episode too abruptly can feel weird and wrong, like the storyarc set out in the episode hasn't been fully concluded. Ending a part abruptly, however, is more justified, 'cause you know the next part will seamlessly pick up exactly where the last one left off, without any intro, 'previously on' segment or general reestablishing of atmosphere required. It simply picks up again, and moves forward. It's a lot easier, simple as.
- I really don't want to!!!

Article 13 News:
iT'S TIME FOR TUBE NEWS.
So the article passed, but it hasn't been voted through parliament yet. Parliament is, in theory, there to protect us from shitty bills like these, and legitimate, sensible people can actually be found there.
There are also a lot of people there willing to take bribes, I'm sure.
And, let's be real, Google definitely has deeper pockets than some crummy newspaper outlet.
It is all about the money, after all.
Especially in the case of an article like this.
Implementing this article will prevent money from flowing in.
Everyone knows traditional media is dying, so why fight in favour of it?? Well, for the purpose of extorting some money out of the big boy social media companies, of course.
It's totally worth it to these crusty fuckos.
So, in all honesty, I'm still not that worried.
This shit won't pass.
And if it does, I still have my totally radical backup-plan.
Speaking of which, me and Fredrik Knudsen (Down the Rabbit Hole) actually sat down recently and brainstormed some ideas for Battlemace 42-Million just for fun and, maaaaan, we came up with the most hilariously uncanny shit, it was amazing. Even if Article 13 doesn't happen, I'm pretty sure I'll move onto Battlemace after TTS is all done. It's too much fun to pass on.
Nevertheless, please expect Part 2 to be out here on Patreon soon, and Part 1 out on YouTube!
As is usually the case, I'm sure there'll be a subset of people out there absolutely furious with me for only releasing a 25 minute video after months of waiting. And a subset who'll be furious over a lack of Emperor and Kitten in Part 1. And furious over the change in format. And furious with the part in general 'cause it's different and weird and bad. Thus I'll be putting myself in the WoW-bunker for a bit until it blows over.
Angry, scathing comments aren't great for the mental, especially after a new release.
As a tip to people who are new to, or want to join in on, the content creator scene; Distancing yourself from your work so you don't start boiling on the inside over someone insulting your PRECIOUS BABY that you spent MONTHS slowly and painfully SQUEEZING out of your BRAIN-UTERUS is recommended, as hard as it may be.
(This really good analogy is brought to you by someone who read a Ian Watson book recently.)
As a final note if you are a $30 pledger, please look out for another post coming up very soon, 'cause I'll be asking you how you want your name stylized in the credits for public release of Part 1 like usual!

They said, while funny, it simply isn't long enough and thus feels sort of empty in comparison to Part 1. They say it would be unwise for me to release it straight after the big boy success of Part 1. Now, I might still just release it here as, like... I dunno, Part 1.5 maybe? And then work the fuck out to get everything done by next month, removing the need for a Part 3 entirely. Let's hope I can manage that.

2018-06-30 00:56:47 +0000 UTC1: You are putting too much focus on someone who is just memeing. 2: I am so damn glad you are splitting up the episodes in to parts (though I still don't understand why you don't call them episodes on their own, since recent episodes have had many moments where they could have ended safely). Pretty sure I and many others have recommended splitting the work in to shorter videos because, fuck man, they are really long now for animated videos. Especially considering you aren't a studio. Anything past 10 mins is really damn impressive and shows a huge amount of dedication, but a 10 min video every week or two would show it just as much.

Second: Splitting episodes into parts as opposed to making the parts into episodes actually is really good from a storytelling perspective. Just like in D&D, script writing and everything else, there are natural starts and stops. Third, please keep up the good work! It's fans like you that make WH40K still something to love. I've watched the hell out of your vids, usually I put the playlist of them on in the background while I do anything at home, and I STILL crack up about them, and occasionally get feels (RIP Dominique, you chainsmoking manipulative loyal MOFO!). And fourth, don't ever let people rush you. You do your thing right for YOU. You do it, it's awesome, why mess with it?

If something more fitting could have been said or done, what i would have said...and with TTS i had those thoughts too, but even after several watchings...well....the humor, the little nods to lore and background, quirks of the universe of 40k, the little details-they are simply on-fucking-point! Like, i can watch it over and over, think about what could have been said and done, and I come to the conclusion that what you write is literally the funniest thing you could have said in that situation! Like, it is just as fitting as can be; ironic, quirky, not over the top but sometimes close...it is simply great to watch it, and i am honsetly thankful that you made this! If you ever feel down about some criticism, just remember that there are tens of thousands, if not hundreds odf thousands of people out there that your work brings joy to, time and again! That is not something that many can claim to have achieved in their lives! You can be proud, Bruva! :D
